More scans from NP. This time there are few new shots of Castlevania DS and an interview with Koji Igarashi, Producer of the game. People at Konami sure seem to love the DS.

Nintendo has just launched a mini-site for Mario Party Advance. Pretty nice and very interactive. Check it out:

Also from Filb.de, here is a single new screen from the Pokémon Gamecube game. If they can finally make a console version that plays like the Gameboy ones, Im totally there.

Nintendo’s Pokémon theme park opened the 18th of this month. Looks like a pretty fun place. Id want to go there if I was under ten. Check out the cute pictures at the links below:

Two guys are set to be the youngest people to make it to the top of Mt. Everest. And their bringing thier Nintendo DS’s with them.
Nintendo is eating this up. They are going to have pics and videos of the event on their site. Follow the link to read the whole story.

Our buddies at NDSArt got an unexpected pat on the back today. Nintendo mentioned them in a press release about ‘pocket Picassos.’ Very cool. Head on over to the site to read the full article and drop them a comment or better yet, post some drawings in the forum.

Ah yeah. This is the best thing to happen to Star Wars since Episode 4. This game is getting rave reviews for the PC version so Im excited to see if the GBA game is as good. I dont understand why there is no Gamecube version though. I thought the Cube was ‘teh kiddie.’ Disappointing too, since this is one of those ‘kiddie’ games that is awesome.

Shades of the 90’s. This time its Hillary Clinton who is attacking violent video games. Back in the day, I never understood the big deal about Mortal Kombat. However, I have to say that I do agree with Clinton on the GTA thing. Because of the huge audience this game reaches, and the sick shit you can do in that game, I think its a justifiable concern. Of course, I dont want regulation in my games. However, the crazy violent stuff should be kept out of the hand of minors.
I know that retailers dont really care. Every game store Ive ever been to (or worked at) will sell a kid any game he wants. Most parents are too disconnected with thier kids to notice what they are playing.
The issue here is awareness. As long as people are more informed and the rating system is better enforced then things will be fine.

Now that both systems are out, every major games site feels the need to do a ‘VS’ acrticle. Meh, whatever. Basically, if you want a portable game system with a good battery and no load time get the DS. If you want a fancy gadget that happens to play games along with movies and music, get the PSP. We know which one will have better games.
I think the funny part is that, before the PSP launched, all of the big sites were singing its praises and saying how it mopped the floor with the DS. Now that its out, they have changed their tune. I guess after all the hype they finally realized its about the games.
Ill stick with my DS and iPod for the road and my Cube and DVD player at home. Ive always prefered dedicated devices that did one thing and did them very well. Once you start to try to be everything to everyone you lose focus and all the parts suffer.

Ok, hopefully this worked. I snagged this video off of MarketWatch.com, but wasnt actually able to save it. Try to view it and let me know if it works.
In the clip, Reggie talks about the launch of the PSP and where Nintendo stands. As always, he is very confident and makes a great impression for Nintendo.

Nintendo is once again expanding its reach. This time, Yamauchi has forked over almost 8 million dollars to build a new poetry museum in Kyoto, Japan. Apparently, the museum was primarily designed by Nintendo employees.
The museum will be named ‘Ogura Hyakunin Isshu, which loosely translates as One Hundred Poems by One Hundred Poets (the title of a classic poetry anthology of one hundred Japanese poems from poets who lived during the seventh to thirteenth centuries.)’
Im glad to see a nice cultural contribution like this come from Nintendo. Read the full text below or head over to Gamepspot (*cough*) for the full article:

On of 4cr’s readers, Mr. Amish, sent me a link to this Nintendo DS Site. How very strange. I like the Wario Ware toilet paper thing though. And the guy scratching his balls is funny.
If you head over there, and you have a Nintendo.com account, you can even have a hand manequin mailed to you. Take a few pictures with your hand and you could win $1000, a DS and some games. How bizarre!
