Great news from the San Diego Comicon continues to roll in. During the DC Batman panel it was announced that Paul Pope, one of my personal favorites, will be creating a new Batman graphic novel called Batman: Year 100. This should be amazing. I loved Pope’s take on Batman in Black & White, which was one of the more original and human takes on the character Ive seen. Ill be reserving this as soon as my comic shop gets news of it.

Holy crap! I just found out that DC will be bringing back Will Eisner’s The Spirit as an ongoing series. Darwyn Cooke, probably one of the finest creators working in comics today, will be writing and drawing the series.

To convey how excited I am for this is impossible. Not only is The Spirit one of the most influential and important characters/books in all of comics, but with Cooke on the new series, we should be in for a treat.

Cooke has some huge shoes to fill, but I know that he will do his best and that The Spirit is in good hands. Apparently, Eisner knew of and approved of the new series before he passed away. This is going to be awesome!

Looks like our beloved EA wont be focusing its efforts on the Revolution, instead giving their attention to the PS3 and 360. Without EA, 3rd party support is sure to wane, as a lot of smaller developers probably follow their example. It certainly wont help Nintendo attract the casual gamer.

Here are 27 new screens of the RPG Lunar DS. I also have some bad news for you European gamers waiting for this game…it isnt coming. Well, at least not from current publisher, Ubisoft. Of course, you can still import it, or hope that a Euro publisher picks it up.

One of my most anticipated DS games is the Survival Kids sequel, Lost in Blue. This looks like a game version of my favorite kind of book; shipwrecked loners who have to fend for themselves to survive. Cant wait.

Piracy is a big issue for gaming. Nowadays its hard to imagine that a game could even fit on a floppy. That was what…1.44 MB? Puts a little perspective on our multiple DVD games of today.

Anyway, remember kids, copying is bad!

Rumors are circulating that Nintendo and Capcom are working on an Arcade game called Donkey Kong: Jungle Fever. If this is true, I imagine that it will be something similiar to the fantastic Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat. If that is the case, Ill be hunting down a local arcade to check this baby out!

Word from some spies at CheapAssGamers is that, much like the Super Mario 64 bundle, Nintendo will release a DS bundle featuring Metroid Prime Hunters shortly after it ships.

Tim Shundo sent me this great drawing of his idea of the Revolution controller, along with these cool Revolution interface ideas. Very sleek and elegant. This interface would certainly go well with the clean look of the system.

[Nintendo & comics, what could be better?]

Nintendo is guessing that many comic book fans are also video game fans. From my experience, thats a pretty good assumption.

Nintendo will be showing off a ton of games at the convention, some of which this will be their first playable debut to the public. Check it out if you are in San Diego.

In my ever growing attempt to bring you guys cool comic book news, I recently asked Antony Johnston if he would subject himself to one of my interviews. He kindly accepted!

I really took note of Antony for his recent issue of Queen & Country, but little did I realize that I had been enjoying his writing on other books like Julius and Three Days In Europe.

Antony is a great writer with a fresh voice and one of the best ears for dialogue that Ive had the pleasure to read recently. Thats why Im so excited to have been able to talk with him. Alright, here we go!
