[Now Playing| Jam with the Band - DS]

Single Player mode selection

This is one of the original launch games for the DS in Japan and I finally got around to importing it recently. I have to say that this has got to be my favorite DS game so far. I’m a DDR and other music related games fan, so this games fits perfectly well in my lineup. In a nutshell, you get to play as a member of a band.

[Now In| Photoshop Class]

Here is another great video game/lego creation. I really like this little hinged door on top for the SNES cartridge.

[Now Playing| Pac-Pix - DS]

Namco has released some new details on Pac n’ Roll. Just the fact that it has the original Pac-Man is enough to sell me. Well, not really, but the game itself looks good and the original is a great bonus.

The Floating Castle is celebrating the large crop of power pellets gathered, when the Harvest Festival is suddenly disturbed by a UFO that emits a Ghost Beam, turning Pac-Land into Ghost-Land. Suddenly attacked by the large monster Golvis, Pac-Dad chomps on a power pellet and initiates attack – but while the other ghosts run blue, Golvis remains calm, laughing. Then from his guitar comes a Ghost Light that turns all Pac’s into spheres!

Now with the help of a little Fairy, Pac-Man must save his family and girlfriend from the evil Golvis and Ghosts. You are Pac-Man, controlling his every rolling move with the NDS stylus. Go forward, turn, dash, make a sharp stop; you can control Pac-Man any way you want. With intuitive controls and a twist on the classic Pac-Man franchise, this is a must have for your NDS game collection.

Features:
• Play with Pac-Man like a track ball! Controlling the spherical Pac-Man is easy. Use your stylus to drag him around, going forward, turning corners, dashing with all your might, coming to a super quick stop. With this much control, it’s almost like you’re in the game yourself!
• Go around the world! Explore stages in various worlds – from the Floating Castle to the Jungle, the Ghost House, the Electronic Maze and the Old Ruins. Pac-Man faces challenges like the moving floor, dash panel, jump zone and wind zone.
• Use your power items! Get the “Feather Hat” and Pac-Man can fly through the worlds, dodging and sneaking up on Ghosts. Wear the armor and Pac-Man’s defensive and destructive abilities increase – and you can even go underwater.
• Play the original Pac-Man! The original, arcade mode Pac-Man is included – play with a friend and claim the highest score, eating pellets, ghosts and fruits.

real or not?

I got this image from one of the 4cr readers. Could this be the media format the revolution support? Or maybe just another hoax?

We have been talking about it on irc, here are some interesting quotes:

[roadies] the double O on the Nintendo RS logo is actually part of the DS trademark. The RS may be part of the DS devkit
[roadies] it could even be HD content for display at E3

Another one for the rumor bin, that we will be able to confirm or deny at E3.

sorry =(

I’m sorry to say, but looks as if Mario Kart GP will not be comming to the Gamecube in the near future. Namco and Nintendo have no plans outside of the Japanese arcade market. I still want to get my shot on one of these arcade machines, looks like a trip to Japan is in place :P

[IRC Trivia| May 7th - 8pm EST]

The people at Clover Studios are damn talented. Their games thus far have been amazing and I cant wait to see whats next. We at least know of a Viewtiful Joe for the DS, which should be awesome. Their other game, Okami, simply looks amazing. It looks like the whole thing is a Japanese brush drawing. Right now the game is only confirmed for the PS2, but rumors are circulating that a Gamecube version might be announced at E3. I certainly hope so.

[Now Playing| Polarium - DS]

New info and screens have been released for Sega & Treasure’s Gunstar Super Heroes for the GBA. The screens look great and the developers are saying that they have pushed the GBA even further than they did with Astro Boy…which is very impressive. They have also revealed that you will be able to play as Red or Blue, with each character having his own path and story through the game. Sounds awesome.

The boys over at 1up.com have gotten their hands on Nanostray for the DS, they seem to be enojoying most of the features. Personally I wan’t this game as much as I do Advance Wars DS and Animal Crossing DS. Definaltey looking awsome, this game will bring the shooter genre back to life.
