Famicom Dojo Podcast: Video Game Ratings Are Useless

We live in a world where video game ratings are less warnings and more advertisements for how totally sweet a game is (or isn’t). In contrast, violent action movies tend to shoot for a PG-13 rating, which honestly does a lot to solve the cognitive dissonance of marketing something like a Terminator 2 action figure with “real peeling flesh” to children.

Oh yeah, that was totally a thing.

You’d think that at this point there would be no adults with young kids who were still unaware of what video games could do to their little ones, but apparently not everyone who grew up in the ’80s and ’90s played video games.

I know, right??
