Things X 5 – September 9, 2013
Hi everyone, x5 might be back a little later than expected, but it will be better than ever! Like at least five times better!
If you’re wondering, here’s how I’ve spent the last two months:
I played and finished Pikmin 3, which was thoroughly amazing and while you can read my final impressions on the game in our latest Games Rebels Play (it’s coming this week, we promise!), this comic panel by Brawl in the Family perfectly encapsulate my feelings toward the game.
For whatever reasons, I did play less Animal Crossing New Leaf than anticipated but I did read the charming Pond Smelt graphic novel by Jane Mai.
If Wes Anderson had to make an Animal Crossing movie he would probably tell this story. You can get it for only 15$ here.
During Summer, our (hyper) active collaborator Antonio “the man who even play games while he sleeps” Garcia continued to deliver his Kickin’ It With feature and gave the chance to plenty of small independent creators to share their crowdfunding, video game related projects with us. Several of these projects reached their goals and Antonio even convinced Robert Busey to release its Sword’N'Board game on the Wii U eShop! Yes guys, the 4CR crew is now lobbying to bring more indie games on home consoles!
Thanks to this feature I’ve discovered many promising projects like Ghost Song and Soul Saga. While I’m not the most avid Kickstarter contributor, I did pledge for the promising Every Day Is Play book by Game Paused and I’m excited the project recently reached its funding goal.
It might not be videogame related, but this modern vintage cars project inspired by 50s / 60s design, named MO-TO, was simply too amazing to pass up. There are still a few days left to contribute to the project, check it out.
I’ve finally finished renovating my home office and organized one of the closet to keep my videogames collection (as well as a part of my music collection) which made me realize I have way too many games but that I find it too heartbreaking to sell most of them.
Finally, I’ve watched, in stupor, this disturbing Atari Jaguar infomercial. Watch and learn!
Don’t forget, you can drop me hints on my Twitter account. Also, you are welcome to send me a friend request on my Wii U, my Nintendo Network ID is Jorf-Jorf. My 3DS Friend Code is 5069-3920-3758. If you want to snoop at what I’m playing on PS3 my PSN ID is l_am_error. Have a great week!
