The slowness was one thing that I could deal with. My issue was how cramped it made the game world seem. It reminded me of Eye of the Beholder, but the slowness of it made it seem even "smaller" than that game. Overall worth a purchase if you like puzzle games, but it's not all out stellar.

Oh man, have you tried the original on the iphone? The game is the quickest of them all, owning it on the DS, Xbox360 and iPod.

But yes, PQ2's puzzle element is way better than the first, you can customize your characters a lot more.

And although I like the world, and the way you play it out outside of battle in PQ2, it does slow the pace of the game a lot more than PQ.

The main issue with the first one was that nearly all the versions of it were super buggy. I believe the XBL version was the "best" best in terms of that stuff. The puzzle parts of the sequel are better than the original, it's just all the junk in between that slows it down.

I haven't played one of these, but I know Edgar and some of the staff were super into the first one. I'm more interested in the puzzle aspects of the game... which doesn't mean, based on your review, that I would pick the sequel up even though you say the puzzle mechanics are good. I guess I should still just pick up the first one if I want the PQ experience.
