XBLIG Showcase – AvaGlide

Our friends over at Haiku Interactive (Crate Expectations) are hard at work putting the final touches on their next Xbox Live Indie Game (XBLIG). Entitled AvaGlide, it will be an Avatar Gliding game. Have you been craving a new Pilotwings? This might do the trick for you.

Ava Glide

The game has 4 modes of play including Free Flight, which, as the name implies, will let you glide freely around a level, no time limit, just you and the open air. In Ring Rush, you race against the clock through a winding course of checkpoint rings, along the way trying to grab as many stars as possible to increase your score. Star Smash has you collecting scattered bronze, silver and gold stars to earn points while grabbing clocks to extend your time limit. Each star you collect increases your score multiplier. How good is your aim? Delivery Dash has you flying over target platforms and dropping crates to find out. The closer you get to the center, the more you’ll score.

AvaGlide has online scoreboards for Ring Rush, Star Smash and Delivery Dash. This way you’ll be able to challenge friends to beat your score, or if you’re feeling cocky, just tell them they’ll never be able to beat your score.

You’ll be able to play those 4 modes in these 3 awesome levels.

The best part about all this? It’s 80 Microsoft pts, and will launch in the next few weeks. I will let you guys know when it’s up on XBLIG.

Enjoy the first trailer for the game, you’ll get a glimpse of all the different modes.

Wow, those are some pretty impressive graphics for an XBL indie game. For 80 points, reckon I’ll have to check this one out!

Agreed. That’s looking pretty impressive. Sorta like Wii Sports resort (not surprising seeing the similarity between the systems avatars). Looks fun.

Cool. This is the best part about XBL, cheap and great indy games for only a buck.

Environments look really really dead, almost just look like a random landscape algorithm, the beauty of pilotwings was the world it created
