Hello Player 1
I’m sure that you’ve plunked quite a few quarters into a Pac-Man machine. We all have, probably more than we care to admit. It’s not like you don’t get many opportunities – the machines are literally everywhere!
Somebody must have informed the Guinness Book of World Records, as they have bestowed an award for “most coin-op arcade machines installed worldwide” on Pac-Man creator Toru Iwatani at the recent NLGD Festival of Games. During the festival, Iwatani brought out his original sketches for the game.
The fascinating 31 year-old sketch shows off the initial maze layout. It looks crazy – check out those dead-ends!

Awesome. I surprised and thankful that these are still around. A lot of this kind of stuff, especially in the early days of gaming, probably just got thrown away.

“The fascinating twenty year-old sketch”…
Pac-Man was developed in 1979. Its 2010.
