It’s the Skyward Sword because the sword allows Link to travel between the world above (Skyloft) to the land below (Hyrule). The Skyward sword is also the girl shown in the preview art at last years E3. She turns into a sword which allows Link to travel between these two lands… at some point during the game, this Skyward sword is forged/transformed into the Master Sword.
At least something like that based on all the talks Miyamoto and Anouma have been giving about the game.
