Hello Player 1
Well, here we go. The big show begins in mere days, and with it will come a barrage of announcements and revelations so awesome and shocking that the fabric of the internet itself will be pulverized under their collective weight. Hopefully!
So, dear rebels, what are you hoping for from this year’s E3? Will the 3DS and a nice trailer for Zelda Wii be enough to make you happy, or will you need more? Do you get the feeling that Nintendo’s new handheld will steal the show, or will it be the second coming of our beloved Virtual Boy? What’s got you excited across the board?
Read our answers below, and chime in!
Nick
- Nintendo blows us away with the 3DS
- Nintendo blows us away with some first party games for the 3DS
- Nintendo let’s USA Today unveil the 3DS hours before the show, as they usually do
- Nintendo continues the DSi software type of service and makes more games downloadable
- Miyamoto touches me
- Natal has a good showing and pushes the “full body gaming” idea forward
- Sony gives up and kills the PSP and focuses more on great first party games for PS3
- Tucker gets so many trinkets from the show that he has to ship them back to his house
- They play the World Cup on the show floor TVs
- No one talks about 3D tvs or 3D games (minus 3DS). I don’t want to wear glasses while playing
- Nintendo has a giant robotic Virtual Boy stomping around the show floor, burning lame fanboys with it’s bright red laser beams

Predictions:
- The 3DS will make me love 3D.
- The rumor going around is that Animal Crossing will be the first 3DS game announced. Sounds totally plausible, and I’d love a new entry in the series.
- The PSP2 will be announced at Sony’s conference. They need something to go against the 3DS.
- The new Zelda will rock.
- At least one 4cr staffer will get plastered and try to touch Brian Crecente’s silky hair.
Pipe Dream:
- Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be viewable.
- Oh, and Mother 4 will be announced for the 3DS.
Michael Tucker
Prediction:
I will play every game demoed on the 3DS. Even the lame ones (especially the lame ones)
Pipe Dream:
- Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be viewable in some form
- Nintendo will announce a total redesign of their online services
- A new Animal Crossing will be announced for the 3DS with a much improved online experience
Jody
I am already going to get info about Zelda Wii, 3DS, and Fallout: New Vegas. I don’t need anything else (although I wouldn’t turn down a Suikoden VI).
Mitch
Prediction:
- Left 4 Dead 3. ’nuff said.
GK
Predictions:
- Duke Nukem Forever
- New MMO claiming to be the ultimate “WoW” Killer.
- RRRRRRRRRRiiiiiiidddggggeeee RRAAAACCCCCEERRR!! 3D
- Zelda for Wii
- And last but not least, Reggie eating a big steaming bowl of Red Beans and Rice on stage during the conference. (Not a pipe dream but actual scientific prediction. Trust me.)

Everything explodes. In a giant ball of fire. And we’re all literally blown away by E3. That’s my prediction.

I am very, very excited about the 3DS, *especially* because of the Animal Crossing rumors. AC 3D sounds like the coolest thing ever. In fact, it was the first thing I thought of when I saw Hidden 3D Image for DSi. And on that note, I’m hoping that the 3DS will incorporate some interesting camera technology in addition to its (reportedly) amazing display.
Zelda Wii’s appearance is a given, and I’m extremely excited about it. And I’ll put down Pilotwings Wii as my pipe dream. One can dream.
There’s one thing, however, that would make me happier than any/all of the above. It would be so great, in fact, that Nintendo’s show could consist of it and only it, last for five minutes, and feature nothing else whatsoever, and I would still be happy. Even more notable is the fact that it’s a very small thing…
A revamped Nintendo account system, accessed and controlled from the web, in which VC/WiiWare/DSiWare purchases would now belong to those who purchased them, not only to the devices on which they’re played. More than one of each system (a maximum of three sounds like a good number) could be registered on which to access one’s library of games, etc. Such a system is viewed as standard everywhere else in this day and age, and I don’t know about you, but I find myself holding back from impulse VC purchases every now and then on account of the fact that they don’t really feel like they’re mine. Know what I mean? Wouldn’t it just be nice to know that your VC copy of SMB will be yours forever, playable on any capable future device?
So yeah, that’s what I’m hoping for. I’m satisfied with the little things.

Really, all I want (going in that is) is Zelda Wii details. Easily my favorite series, so I’m always pumped about the next game. 3DS news will certainly be fun too. I’m interested in following it more closely this year, so I’m sure I’ll see things that excite me during the show, but I don’t have a lot of expectations going it…

NEW ZELDA. For me, it even overshadows the 3DS. That is how obsessed I am with getting a TRUE Zelda Wii game. Going a whole year with only a single piece of artwork to go off of has been tearing me apart! I’m also really interested in what Microsoft shows regarding Natal and Sony’s new Magic Wand stuff. And I forgot about BG&E 2! That will be terrific.

Also- if we don’t see a new F-Zero or Starfox at this show, I’m giving up hope on both those franchises ever coming to Wii. *sigh*

I absolutely had a great laugh at this;
“- Nintendo has a giant robotic Virtual Boy stomping around the show floor, burning lame fanboys with it’s bright red laser beams”
It’s like the greatest wish anyone could ask for.
As for joining in on the predictions things these are my hopes and dreams;
- the rumors that Retro Studios is working on a new Donkey Kong game are true,
- Golden Sun gets lime light again with highlight on story elements, new locations and new music
- Zelda Wii is announced with Miyomoto not only coming out with the Master Sword and Hylian Shield, but also on top of a horse
- the 3DS has a Super Mario Sunshine remake to accompany it’s release (much like the Mario 64 DS… FLUDD shooting in 3D!)
- the AC3D rumors are also true!
- Kid Icarus comes out of limbo with Nintendo heading it, alongside it Pikmin 3, and a new Star Fox is mentioned
- Microsoft puts Rare finally to good use and they produce the Banjo and Perfect Dark games that their fans can be proud of
I could go on with the wishing though… there’s a lot of things I wish would happen. This E3 will be big on software I think, and it will be something to be excited about for gamers everywhere.

For me it HAS to be the following:
- Mother 3 announced as a 3DS launch tittle. The trippy battles, artwork and all out “funkyness” of the game in 3D makes for a legal way to fly.
- Pikmin 3 to playable on the floor (which means we get tons of videos and previews) and to be released on December 12 2010.
- The rumor about Zelda being about exploring and not knowing you’re in a dungeon until after it REALLY hits you that you’re in a dungeon would be a great way to get the game back to it’s roots since the exploration is what inspired Miyamoto on the 1st place.
- Starfox Wii
- Startropics 3D for the 3DS
- Disaster: Day of Crissi and Fatal Frame 4 to be budget ($19.99 and $29.99 respectively) to fill in the release calendar and please “hardcore fans”
- Going back to Zelda, it WILL be delayed into February 2011 so more WM+ units are sold and they can give us the best looking game (not Wii game, but GAME in general) this generation. I’m not just talking about polygons and graphic power but also art-style direction and overall “artsy” feeling).
- Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 soundtracks available on Club Nintendo for 400 coins each.
- The Goldeneye remake is true.

I want F-Zero Wii (or 3DS).
And.. I dunno. A new Wii fighter from Capcom or SNK.
Everything else is a shoo-in (Zelda, 3DS, etc).
