Hello Player 1
The age of the Dreamcast, while short-lived, was a wonderful time to be a gamer. The console was a massive step-up from the comparatively primitive N64 and Playstation, and the games were good, great even. Plus, for the first time, console gamers could easily play with other gamers across the world. Despite the glowering specter of the Playstation 2 on the horizon, it seemed for that brief moment that SEGA might actually escape their troubled past. Alas, it was not to be. SEGA fell before the merciless march of their competitors, eventually abandoning the hardware business altogether.
Great, now you’ve got me waxing nostalgically again. That’s not the point – the point is that a number of SEGA’s first-party Dreamcast titles are coming out on Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network later this year. Yes, we all knew that already, it’s practically the worst-kept secret in the industry right now. Still, we actually have confirmation of it now! To celebrate the eleventh anniversary of the console, the developer will release the first Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi for the digital download services. Both games will be bumped up to a higher resolution and a surround sound mix, and the typical goodies like leaderboards and achievements will be included.
As much I dug the first Crazy Taxi, I have to admit that the part of this announcement that has me salivating is the promise of more Dreamcast titles to come. I would murder for a high-res port of Skies of Arcadia or Chu Chu Rocket.
What about you guys? What Dreamcast titles are you holding out hope for?

Does it have to be first party? I’d like to see Capcom get off of their asses and make an HD remake of Cannon Spike.

SKIES OF ARCADIA. OH GOD YES.
Also, Sonic Adventure 2.

Sonic Adventure was, in my opinion, the last good Sonic game. I hope this extends to the whole Dreamcast library though, because there were some gems. Especially fighting games.

Jet Grind Radio. If I can download that to my 360/PS3 …I seriously won’t need my Dreamcast anymore.

IF they release Skies of Arcadia with trophies on PSN I’ll be sure to get it… even if I already own the Dreamcast and Gamecube versions…

HD Powerstone might be reason for me to buy an XBox360. Or Chu-chu Rocket (I still have some puzzles to unleash on the world!). Or Shemmue, I always meant to play that.
i_am_error on June 11, 2010 at 3:24 pm
Always wanted to play Seaman too. My fav titles were Rez and Soul Calibur…

Power stone 2 online multiplayer!
EdEN on June 11, 2010 at 4:30 pm
@i_am_error: Well, Seaman would also need a headset purchase in order to play but yeah, it is a very fun game that must have been even better way back when it was released since I haven’t played it in a while but I guess the “wow” factor isn’t the same anymore.

Shenmue at a higher resolution and a wider screen aspect would be nice.
