Hello Player 1
After watching the trailer for Miegakure as it was linked from Reddit following a Randall Munroe comic featuring it, I knew immediately that I had to play it. Unfortunately, there is no demo out yet for this puzzle-platformer that focuses on using the 4th dimension to accomplish specific tasks so this delightfully pleasant trailer will have to suffice.
Too bad I can’t, you know, leap through the 4th dimension to a time when the game’s already released.
Check the trailer for yourself after the break.

Big freaking deal. How do you know what blocks don’t transcend time and space? It looked like some of the stone blocks didn’t go through time. Appears to be a standard block shape puzzler (my most recent re-exposure to it was in Zelda : Spirit Tracks, but Adventures of Lolo on the NES was my first visit) to me.

I think some of those commenting above like Squashua might not understand how the game works. It isn’t anything about the blocks going through time, it is that the blocks exist in 4 spacial dimensions, but you only are seeing a representation of 3 spacial dimensions at any one time. So what is happening with each shift is that one spacial dimension (x in x,y,z) is replaced by the 4th previously unseen spacial dimension (let’s label it q), and so after the shift we see the blocks in q,y,z where x is static.
I agree it does look like the game-play will be a block based puzzler, but with one extra spacial dimension. This would be to a normal block based puzzler what said puzzler is to Tetris. I personally think it looks very interesting. It is an idea with a lot of potential.

This game looks amazing! I’m happy to see that the indy scene is quite really good this times. And Jonathan Blow (Braid) said : “miegakure is the game of the year”.
