I saw this incredible rendition of Pokemon as traditional Japanese art at Kotaku earlier, and upon sharing the link in the staff thread, one of our own chimed in with the following:
“rumas i thought that was pretty cool until the very end when i saw a flaming unicorn dog with hooves.”
I do believe his interpretation was spot-on.

Kind of reminds me of Okami… just pointing out the obvious visual coincidence.

Yes I know that Okami is heavily influenced by traditional Japanese ink on rice paper art pieces.
I just mean that the immediate reaction to seeing those colour tones and flames was that of Okami. With my mind being on that of video games at time of viewing the image.
