Several sites are reporting a Famitsu reveal of a No More Heroes remake, with the extended title of Paradise, set to hit the PS3 and 360 in Japan this February. This would be the first of those HD remakes Marvelous expressed an interest in doing earlier this year, and we assume would drop all concern about motion controls, given that those systems won’t have any during that release window. This also has nothing to do with the upcoming Wii sequel, just to keep it straight.
Since I’m still not sure that I enjoyed the original Wii release as much as other people, it’ll be interesting to see how the game crosses over, assuming it’s heading our way as well. Will Suda51’s style work for the HD crowd?
Guess we’ll find out soon enough, but I’ll really miss the little nuances I did enjoy, such as holding the WiiMote to my ear like a cellphone.

It will be interesting to see how this game does on other platforms. One way or another it will spark some debates… either it will sell well, and it will attributed to the fact that all the ‘hardcore’ gamers are on the 360 and PS3 or that it just looks better in HD. Or it will sell less then it did on the Wii and then warrant the argument that the Wii just gets lackluster titles.
Mind you there is no way to tell how it will turn out. Will people buying the new HD version be people who already played or even owned the original on Wii? Will it be people who had always been interested, but never got it because they don’t own a Wii? Will extra content factor in? Bahhh….

Uh… this comes off as pretty silly… considering that other than the cool style & funny story/characters the Wiimote was the best thing about the game. Remember when you get your first phone call? Or performed your first suplex? How about that final energy beam slash? Would it still be as cool/fun doing all those things without the Wiimote?

As much as NMH did do a pretty good job of using the wiimote in cool ways, itll be nice to play a remake sans waggle. I hope they take advantage of the extra power and give us some more enemies to fight and less bland environments. I really wanted to like NMH more than I did, it made me smile, but not enough to make me finish it.

I loved NMH, but it was honestly all thanks to the motion controls. Without it it’s a rather mediocre game.
The PS3 version could possibly keep some motion controls (although it probably won’t), but overall those ports are going to be dull unless they throw in more bonuses than some costumes.
