Okay, so it’s my personal tribute, but don’t let that stop you!
Much of the past ten years is lovingly recreated in this homage to our dear, departed friend. You were taken from us too early, but you will never be forgotten.
I played my dreamcast last afternoon after work. some jet grind radio and marvel vs capcom!!!
loved this system might even play sonic and power stone tonite.

Sean, you are a comedic genius. This is the best Dreamcast tribute I have seen yet.

I played Power Stone and Chu Chu Rocket to celebrate. There are still things the DC does better that even current gen consoles. VMU anyone? Man, I miss the old Sega…

That was really funny stuff, guys - but I was wincing as you were slamming that Dreamcast lid down. BE GENTLE! IT DIDN’T DO ANYTHING TO YOU!
Dude, I played a sick amount of Dreamcast yesterday. And the day before. And today. Very nostalgic as of late, I guess. I forgot how ridiculous Crazy Taxi is. Ridiculously good, that is.
Anyway, I also forgot how awesome the VMUs are. When I remembered, I peed in my pants a little bit. Just THINK of the potential those things had… Mostly squandered, yes, but potential nonetheless!
Sadly, Sonic Adventure did not hold up nearly as well as I remember it… Gladly, Jet Grind Radio and Shenmue both held up BETTER than I remember them.
Is the Dreamcast the prettiest-lookin’ console ever? Yeah, it sure is.
Huh. I’m skipping rather inelegantly from thought to thought.
Oh! The Official Dreamcast Magazine may have been the best thing about the Dreamcast era. What a quality hunk of journalism, that.

Anyone else play Dreamcast on a CRT monitor with the adaptor? It looks beeeuteeefulll. (Especially Guilty Gear and Rival Schools.)
I played Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure for a bit on the 9th. Love that system so much I brought it with me to my move to the city.

The good ol’ blogosphere has been saturated with Dreamcast love fests all week, and yet even after reading article upon article I can’t for the life of me figure out what the big deal is. Now I never personally owned a dreamcast, but a good friend of mine did and while I’ll happily agree that it had some good games I don’t get why so many people online wax on about how it was the greatest console ever. Personally I cherish my SNES or Gamecube more.
Sorry, but I still don’t get the love.

@Mike - It’s kinda like when an artist dies after a really promising start, and we’re able to imagine that everything to follow would have been continually greater and greater without being proven wrong.
SEGA was the spirit of gaming. or at least half of it. for an entire generation of folks. Too bad they spent too much cash making add-ons and in-between systems. the sega cd? should have skipped it and just released the dreamcast… the proof you were still a gamers company. Well thanks for the rich history provided to gaming culture. Fuck, they’re still making money on franchises maybe some day SEGA will re-enter the console ‘war’.
I would go Squee!

@JAMIE LOVE - Totally true, while I do believe they would have continued being successful, I doubt all of them would be like ultimate masters of their trade.
@MIKE - Is your last name Ackerman, per chance?

I never owned a Dreamcast but I played Jet Grind Radio on a friend’s console and that was a great game. I’d love to see it as an Xbox Live Arcade game.
