Tweet-In: Old Games – Keep, Sell, or Trade?

Alright guys, you’ve just finished the latest gaming masterpiece. What do you do with that shiny little disc? These days, you have a ton of options. Interested in a new game? You could trade your completed game for store credit at Gamestop or Amazon, or for another game somewhere like Goozex. If you’re strapped for cash, you could just sell the thing on eBay. Of course, you might just want to hold on to the thing.

Twitter users, get your keyboard ready. Old games – keep, sell, or trade? Be sure to tag your posts with #4croldgames so that I can find them. The best responses will be posted next time. Not a Twitter user? We still want to know your opinions. Feel free to just comment on this post.

Click past the cut for my favorite responses to the last topic – your favorite currently-running comic books. Lots of love for Walking Dead!

JonKehoe: Walking Dead – it’s just so guttural and emotional. Awesome stuff.
Agent_M: Hmmm. My favorite currently comic series is probably GHOST RIDER. It’s insane & I want to sleep with it
swift17: The Walking Dead is definitely my favorite right now. It’s classic Romero wrapped in a modern day story. Char. depth is amazing.
vsrobot: Dark Horse’s Star Wars books(pew pew), Scott Pilgrim(meta game references), Walking Dead.(old school horror feel)
HonkeyKong: My favorites are Kick-Ass and Hack/Slash. Not sure if you can count Kick-Ass as “currently running” though
gongonzabarfarbin: I haven’t read comics in the better part of a year but before I stopped, I really enjoyed Kick Ass.

i don’t use twitter much, so i’ll do my thang here.

I have recently become a huge fan of goozex and see myself using it a lot in the future, but really it depends on the game. Usually I’ll get rid of a game when I’m done with it, unless it’s a game that I have absolutely loved. example: I’ll never sell Suikoden II, Bioshock, Fallout 3, or any of my Zelda games.

I know this isn’t really the place… but why use twitter for this kind of thing at all? I really don’t understand why people are so intent on pushing twitter into every facet of the web…

On the topic however, I normally hang onto all of mine. The only time I would ever trade something in is in the case of a totally worthless game that I would never replay, like The New Super Mario Bros.

@ Steven:

We had a Twitter already, so I thought it would be cool to actually use it for SOMETHING. Plus, we do have a cool little Twitter “community.”

We’re still going to have our normal “chime-in” articles on Mondays (though, none this week for some odd reason), but we’re going to do these on Thursdays too.

It’s kind of pointless, but fun at the same time. So, if you don’t want to mess with the Twitter part, just comment on here or stick to the Monday chime-in posts.

I keep my games, selling them is a complete waste you get next to nothing for it. Most of the games I bought were used or out a while already, plus I did research on them to see if it was worth a purchase, so they can stay in my collection.

Um, duh, keep. Even bad games can be fun to bring out years later and laugh at with your friends.

there are a few stinkers i dont miss trading back- but far more i regret ever trading for the pitiful £3 towards the next game. I try to keep what i can nowadays, and have taken to rebuying some of my old faves i traded away back in the day.

I only trade in the real let downs, I alwys feel like at some point I’ll want to return to most games and wouldn’t want to sell them.

Most games I keep, unless it really stunk then I will consider selling back for credit.

I keep. One time, I traded in my NES with all my games. Took me a while to get them all back again. Good thing for eBay.
