Game Box Art Reimagined as Beautiful Book Covers

Wow. Amazing. Ever since my first typography class in school I’ve been in love with good book cover design. I own multiple copies of certain books, just because they redesign the cover of one of my favorites and I have to have it.

I stumbled across this amazing post at Kotaku today full of video games reimagined as classic book covers and I was right-clicking and saving the whole lot of them. Take a look and enjoy.

I’ve been browsing through the something awful forum for awhile here at work, some really great work, I wish some were in actual box dimensions, I’d get prints and replace the normal boxart with some of them.

I love these. I think I’m head-over-heels for that R-Type cover.

Nice find, Nick. I’m a graphic designer and book lover, so definitely hear you about the aesthetic appeal of some book covers. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that with the re-imagined game covers, they seem to take my own preferred approach to design.
Very cool.

I opened them all on different tabs so as not to have the fun spoiled. And the Tomba! one just gave me the fucking chills. You should talk about that game some time…

The Punch Out and Mirror’s Edge ones are my favorites. Killer 7 is pretty spiffy too.

All of these are amazing. Wonderful typography. I especially love the Super Mario Kart and Electroplankton covers.
