Here’s the new trailer for Batman: Arkham Asylum. Pretty cool, huh? I think this game just moved to my must-have list. What do you think? Also, Arkham could be a nice setting for a next Batman movie.
Bah. Footage looks amazing, I’m really not a fan of the Joker’s voice. That’s the same guy from the newer batman cartoon, I believe. It sorta fits in the cartoon, but now that they’re using the more classic joker from the comics, I feel like he should have a more reedy voice, for such a skinny dude. I dunno.
It sounds for all the world like Kevin Michael Richardson (newer Joker voice actor)… Hamill usually doesn’t go that low for Joker. You may be right, though.
I’m afraid of the fatal flaw of all batman games. The gameplay. I like where the team is going on the story and the awesome graphics, but if the game plays like crap I wont be playing long enough to see either.
I’m glad he changed how he did the voice a bit. It’s much more appropriate for the mood of the game. Look pretty good, I don’t care for how much everyone looks like action figures but that’s just nitpicking.
It definitely feels weird to have the voice of Bats coming out of something other than a Bruce Timm drawing. While the models are quite nicely normal mapped and textured to look realistic, I would have loved to seen the art direction go more towards the Arkham comic, more surreal and emotionally charged. But I know after the Dark Knight everyone wants it dark, gritty, and real so they probably didn’t have any choice.

Bring back Mark Hamill!

Further research shows it is Hamill, apparently. Really doesn’t sound like his take on the Joker, though.

Kevin Conroy for the win. And yes, even though it sounds a bit like The Batman’s Joker, it is Mark Hamill, who is actually my favorite Joker.
I still don’t like the art style and have yet to be convinced of the gameplay. I’d really love for there to be a new and good Batman game though.

At Kotaku, there’s a very positive hands on impressions of the game, and it says that the gameplay is coming along very well.

No idea how the gameplay will be but that looks awesome.
HOW IS BATMAN SO COOL

I can recognize that Hamill-style joker laugh anywhere, now, even when he does it for other voiceovers. It’s the weirdest thing.

Why is Batman not capitalized? I’m pretty sure it’s a proper noun…

Yan- yeah, Nick almost killed me for that mistake

There won’t be a Wii version of the game, will it?
