Hello Player 1

Jed is a fun little platformer created by MrPiglet. It’s a pretty simple game at first glance, but it does have a pretty cool innovation. There is a foreground and a background in each level and you switch between the two to save all the baby robots and beat the game. There are also little items, such as a jetpack, that you pick up for certain levels.
The graphics and sound are pretty nice, focusing on that “new-retro” style that Cave Story popularized. The game isn’t super attractive, but it’s simple and it works. The music is a little overbearing, but it’s epic and fun at the same time.
The game isn’t quite finished yet, but you can download the super fun preview version here.
I also wanted to mention two other deserving games this week. One is a really cool platformer with randomly generated levels, great graphics and music, fun gameplay, and a fun name: Spelunky!. This is definitely a game I’d pay money for on Wiiware. The other game is very different, it’s a FPS with very original, and cool, graphics. There’s not much in the way of gameplay, but the graphics and style in Gravity Bone makes it worth a try.

Spelunky is great. I highly recommend it.

Oooh, sweet, definitely glad you’re enjoying Jed!
There’s no doubt that I’m extremely glad of the coverage, but I do feel I need to point out that the version available is a very much work-in-progress preview version, and that despite it floating around on the tigsource forums it’s not even yet properly released! If you could mention that it’s a preview version (and preferably just link to the thread, the download link is liable to change without warning) I’d really appreciate it
Cheers,
MrPiglet

I honestly didn’t really care for Spelunky. I know a lot of people enjoy it, but I just don’t find it all that fun to play. The controls feel off to me for some reason.

@MrPiglet
Sure thing! I guess I didn’t read the topic carefully enough, sorry about that.
