I apologize for the lack of Fun For Frees over the past month or so, but my computer situation was less than desirable. My laptop was “broken”, and the only other computer I had access to was about half as old as I am. Needless to say, I had no way of playing any cool free games for that period of time.

But now my computer is fixed and Fun For Free is back! This week, I bring you Verge, a 2D sidescrolling puzzle game.

Verge was created by Kyle Pulver for the TIGSource Commonplace Book Competition. You travel between two worlds, life and death, to solve puzzles and make way to the exit of each of the nine levels. The puzzles themselves aren’t too difficult, but they are fun and the learning curve is excellent. The production values are pretty high for an indie game, with Cave Story style graphics and very good, moody music. The only real flaw is that the game is so short.
