Wii-only rockers, time to dry those tears! After receiving a quite gimped Rock Band 1, EA and Harmonix have thankfully decided to bring online play to the Wii version of Rock Band 2. Wii owners will be losing a couple of minor things in the transition over, but I think most Wii owners are willing to forego having a tattoo or logo designer in exchange for online play.
The best part however is that not only will Wii owners be able to play online, but all Rock Band DLC will be coming to Wii as well. All downloaded songs will be stored on SD cards. The bad news is that songs have to be copied over from the SD card to the internal Wii memory to be played. Hopefully that will be automated and not something the player will have to do before starting the game up.
Would this sway you to pick up Rock Band 2 for Wii?

I wonder how fast they’ll put out the old DLC, or if it’ll all be available at once. Either way I bet the 55 songs from the first one won’t be making their way to SD cards any time soon, so in that regard it isn’t as complete.

Looks like Guitar Hero game Rock Band some serious things to reconsider, with all of its features.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is why competition is good.

If I can download Doolittle in its entirety, then I might just have to get this. Dammit.

What I’m wondering is if I should get the first one now to prepare for this one! It is sad though that the songs from the first one won’t be transferable like in the other versions. Does anyone know if the new instruments are significantly better on the Wii?

I wonder why they would have to cut out this tattoo editor or whatever?
