Free Radical, creators of the excellent TimeSplitters series, are hosting a poll on their website.

Would you rather see it on the Wii, or another console? Also if you vote for something other than the Wii, please feel free to leave a comment with your address, I’ll see you soon. Thanks.

How about voting for no more First-Person-Shooters? There’s too many of them! Vote to kill the First-Person-Shooter instead!

Voted accordingly. PS3 needs to go die in a hole.

@Gam
While I agree that the FPS market is really oversaturated, Timesplitters is one of the great series.
@AJ
Hey! I love the PS3. Not really, but I don’t want my money to go to waste.

Uh…. I’d rather see this on the PS3.
TimeSplitters is the one FPS game that _really_, __really__ nailed Dual Analog controls. Why kill that and gimp the game by putting it on the lesser system? I’d rather have a new Wii FPS than a great one shoehorned to fit.
Arcanis - 10.06.08 7:33 pm
Because Dual Analog controls suck?
Besides, PS3 has Killzone and Resistance already. The Wii needs some LOCAL MULTIPLAYER FPS lovin.
rbelmont - 10.06.08 7:55 pm
Like, I played Timesplitters Future Prefect for hours, and I still can hardly stand the controls.

“Current games are lacking: Stunning Graphics - 50%”
Are really the whole gaming crowd that shallow, or just the ones visiting that site?

Go play Metroid Prime 3 and tell me how badly you want to go back to analog sticks.

Ugh, if they port to the Wii it won’t be pretty. They won’t be crafting a whole new game, they will just be down-rezing and “optimizing” the game, and in the process deliver every other schlock product multi-platform game the Wii gets.
Unless the develop a second team to focus solely on a Wii version, best to let it just pass the system by.

I’ve played Metroid Prime 3, it’s awesome, FPS on the Wii can be awesome, FPS _for_ the Wii is what is awesome however. Just as Mike said, this game will not be pretty on the Wii. TS has always had another take on the Dual-Analog control setup that has (in my elitist, diehard PC-FPS supporting view) always been the shining example of how to do FPS on consoles. They didn’t point at Bungie and say “Uh… yeah, we’re with these guys!” when the question of controls came up. TimeSplitters is without a doubt the best recreation of awesome PC Deathmatch action we’ve seen to date.
What works for Dual-Analog controllers isn’t what works for the Wii. I’m all for a brand new, built from the ground-up Wii FPS, don’t get me wrong. I want to see this for sure, I’m even psyched for The Conduit. I just don’t want to see an already awesome game forced out of its element before it has the chance to shine on the current-gen hardware.

Sorry, I voted for PS3 too. As much as I’d love to see more amazing shooters on the Wii, TimeSplitters isn’t one. As a game so dependent on the atmosphere and humour, putting it on a graphical powerhouse makes more sense to me. I just think they’d be able to exploit the PS3’s architecture to much greater effect than they could the Wii’s. Also, online multiplay would be a massive selling point for me, hopefully with splitscreen supported as well. Finally, Free Radical already has PS3 experience. Granted, Haze was not exactly what one would call a good game, but at least it let them get a feel for the system, and that familiarity would probably prove to be a benefit to TimeSplitters as well.
That said, I’d still buy it if it were on Wii, but I’d always be wondering what could have been…

voted for xbox purely because of the multiplayer experience that would come with it, i reserve my wii for buying games with a great artistic style with a great story to go with (mario karts being the exception). The fact is games do look a hell of a lot better on ps3/ xbox and we all have to accept that visuals do play a part because who’s gonna wanna play a zelda when link looks like he’s from N+?
Wii HD 2011!

Why even bother? I really don’t care for the series much. Maybe if it’s Gears of Wars instead?
shingo - 10.07.08 11:56 am
I still have not been convinced that the Wii is any good for run and gun twitch style shooters like this that require quick movement and precise aiming. Personally, at least, I have a really hard time with that… and frankly, something like Metroid Prime is not in the same control “world” as Timesplitters typically has been.
They’ll honestly probably just put this on everything.

The thing is, PS3 and 360 are effectively the same vote. Most of these games end up on both systems, so even if the Wii edges past PS3 in votes, I can see the game going to PS3/360 since at this time, they have more than 50% of the votes combined.

In light of nintendo making wiimakes, I’d rather see Second Sight wiimaked.
