They repackaged a Megaman 1 ROM with added DLC. That makes it next-gen!

Wow, what a shallow and uninspired joke I’ve heard ten times now that really isn’t accurate.

Almost all of Megaman 9 was created from scratch to FEEL like MM2, but hardly anything is actually ripped from it. It’s certainly not a ROM hack, either. Almost all of the graphics and sounds have been created just for this game.

Also, it’s only $10, and it’s just as good as MM2 was, which, and I imagine this shocks many gamers today, means it’s still a very good game, and the graphical style is more of an artistic choice than a “we’re lazy” because in all due honesty, it’s HARDER to make graphics this old look GOOD. Slapping some polygons together may take more technical work but this took more artistic work to make it look as classic and iconic as it does.

Mega Man 9 is not purely a lazy attempt to cash in on a craze! Capcom would never do that, ever! *cough*street-fighter-2-and-its-many-incarnations*cough*

You think they could release a true Mega Man sequel this day in age and have it feel “up to date”? Mega man needs those grainy pixels and 8 bit sound, or it’s just not Mega Man.
