I was still in high school when Tetris DS came out. I played it so much that while I was in class, I would see tetris pieces falling in front of my eyes. Not only is it one of the few games that made me hallucinate, but it’s also one of the few games that I played online a lot. You can keep your Team Fortress 2 and Halo 3, I’ll stick with Tetris DS.
Or I would have, except that the Wiiware-bound Tetris Party is looking even better. Not only does it have the best parts of Tetris DS (four player multiplayer and online multiplayer), but it also has a ton of cool new modes. The coolest of which is the new puzzle mode, where you have to drop tetriminos down and form the shape of an object, such as an apple. Much better than Tetris DS’ puzzle mode.
You can see Tetris Party in it’s all it’s glory in this new trailer, and you’ll be able to play the game later this Fall.
Tetris! =) I don’t have a Wii, but soon, and with this, it’ll be more worth to buy…

Agreed. The first remix of the original Tetris theme they played was tolerable, but the rest of it is pretty abysmal.
That said, it does look like a hell of a lot of fun, and I’m sure I’ll be buying it, even if I have to play it on mute.

Tetris is my GAME. I’ll challenge anyone to online marathon battle mode. Bring it.
I would love to take on Hikaru Utada. I have mad repsect for her vocal skills (both English and Japanese) and her Tetris skills.

*Is not really that great at Tetris, but can destroy you at Crazy Taxi and possibly Brawl.

Ah, gaming hallucinations. I had several of those while being hooked on Meteos a while ago. For moments, I couldn’t stop watching falling blocks, even if I closed my eyes. A brick wall becomed the DS screen, or even the tiles of the floor. I never had that with Tetris, because I phail at that game.

Tetris DS is fun, and I play it a lot, but Team Fortress 2 kicks the shit out of it for multiplayer gaming any second of any day of the week. Don’t even try to justify that statement you made.
