Summer’s over! And I think I’m actually going to miss it this year, because August in Korea wasn’t only tolerable, it was downright perfect most of the time. Read on to hear what we played during the month that was, and chime in to let us know what kept you busy, too.

Jody:

Played through the fantastic Bioshock, and am thinking of going through it again. Or maybe going through Metal Gear Solid 4 again. Yeah, I want to replay games I just finished instead of working on my backlog. I’m cool that way. I have also been playing through Lost Odyssey when I have the time, as well as the ever awesome Soul Bubbles on DS. Throw in some XBLA time (Bionic Commando: Rearmed and now Castle Crashers) and I immediately realize that I play too many games at once.

Evan:

I’ve been playing a lot of different games lately, but the main one is Bionic Commando Rearmed. It’s pretty much exactly what I want and expect a game to be.

Edgar:

Like last month, I’ve been playing Etrian Odyssey 2, now on floor 10. This game is sooo hard. On the PC, I’ve been playing Lord of the Rings Online, now at level 42 on the server Vilya.

June:

On the DS, I’ve been playing more Pokemon Pearl and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness. Seriously, maybe I have the PokeRus or something, but I can’t stop playing the games. I also got Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II for the GameCube working online, and played a great deal of that up until a friend invited me to World of Warcraft. 10 days later, I’ve picked up the battle chest, and it’s been loads of fun. For the Horde!

I also picked up a few titles I’ve been meaning to get for awhile now, including Izuna 2 (DS), Metal Gear Solid (PSX), Star Fox Assault (GC), Atelier Iris 2 (PS2), The Golden Compass (360) and Phantasy Star Online Episode III (GC). I’m sure there are others on the list, but working loads has eaten into the ol’ game time. Sleep? What’s that?

Rumas:

I played two games this month: Mario Kart Wii and Heatseeker.

In Mario Kart, I finally got as far as I’m going to get — I unlocked all but the expert ghosts. They’re just too tough for me, so there’s little use in trying. It was a love-hate experience in my case, but just the same, a fun way to spend my gaming time during the summer.

Heatseeker is pretty bad, but it’s one of those games that manages to be fun despite its faults. I’d really suggest giving it a try, if only to check out the extremely cool controls. More impressions here.

Vinnk:

I am in the United States right now having a little second wedding party with my American friends and family. While here I bought some Wii games for my collection. I will soon be playing Harvey Birdman, SNK Collection, Blastworks, the English version of Dragon Quest Swords and Boom Blox.

On the quite long flight I played some Final Fantasy IV, but after a few hours of that I need a change and I brought out Meteos. I haven’t played this game in about 2 years and forgot how amazinly fun it is. I must have played it for about 6 hours. I taught my wife to play it and now she is addicted too. I have no idea how the Xbox 360 version will play, but the DS original is fantastic.

As soon as I get back to Japan (and my TV) I will go back to playing Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People. Homestar Runner is another thing that I haven’t paid attention to in years but I am having a lot of fun with the game so far.
