Hello Player 1

I think everyone will agree that Nintendo’s Press Conference was pretty awful. It was long and dull, Reggie and Cammie were annoying, and they only showed a couple cool games. Fortunately for us, there is more to E3 than just the press conferences. There were a number of cool Nintendo Wii and DS games shown at the event, you just had to look past the press conference for them.

Gravity
This is a fun looking game where you interact with objects and blocks that act realistically to their environment to complete puzzles. There are 100 puzzles and some lame looking minigames. Oh, and it’s coming out on the DS and PC as well.

Tales of Symphonia 2
The original Tales of Symphonia on the Gamecube was fantastic. I still don’t know how to feel about this one though, because besides Symphonia, I haven’t liked any of the other Tales games.

De Blob
I’m not that excited for this game, but I know a lot of you are. The graphics and style are nice though.

Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility
The last console Harvest Moon, Magical Melody, was absolutely fantastic and easily one of the best in the series. Unfortunately, this game is looking more like A Wonderful Life, one of the worst in the series.

SPRay
This game came out of nowhere and actually looks pretty fun. You use various liquids like water and vomit to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. That’s right, vomit-based puzzles.

Little King’s Story
Easily one of my most anticipated titles on the Wii. You play as a king trying to build up your kingdom. You command various villagers to build structures and go into battles. The coolest thing about the game is that each NPC is supposed to have a life. They can marry, have kids, pass away, and so on.

Megaman 9
Classic Megaman action. Just watch the videos.

Fatal Frame 4
I never played the others and I really don’t know too much about this game, but it is cool that the Wii is getting exclusives like this.
Trailer
Mad World
By the developers of Godhand, Okami, and Viewtiful Joe. Looks incredible.

The Conduit
This game looks better each time I see it. While the graphics aren’t great, the gameplay looks a like a lot of fun and I like the weapon designs.

Wario Land: Shake It!
Classic platforming with updated graphics and motion controls. Looks awesome from where I’m standing.

Castlevania Order of Ecclesia
The Metroidvania Castlevanias are consistently good (except for Harmony of Dissonance) and this looks to be no exception. The graphics and animations are better than ever, and the new Glyph system should add a ton of strategy to the game.

Rune Factory 2
This looks a little too similar to the first game for my tastes. I just hope they fix the balance between farming and fighting and make npc interaction more important.

Kirby Super Star Ultra
One of the best games on the SNES is making it’s way to the DS with more features. Unfortunately, the biggest draw of the game, co-op, is multicart only.
Trailer
Spectrobes: Beyond The Portals
This game apparently fixes the annoying battles and other things of the previous game.
Trailer
Age of Empires: Mythologies
An RTS finally coming to the DS?! Nope, it’s a follow-up on the other Age of Empires game on the DS, which was a turned based strategy game like Advance Wars.
Trailer
Rhythm Heaven
Rhythm Tengoku was one of the best GBA games and I don’t think this will be any different. And the best part is that we won’t have to import it!
Trailer
Dragon Quest IV
Dragon Quest fans should get their fix on the DS with four Dragon Quest games (IV, V, VI, IX) coming out over the next couple years.
Trailer
Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness
Now this looks like classic Harvest Moon. Hopefully it’s not plagued with problems like the previous Harvest Moon DS.
Trailer
Lock’s Quest
This game looks interesting. The concept looks similar to Defend Your Castle, but from an isometric view. It looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix
Puzzle Quest is one of the most addicting games of all time, but it did get old after awhile. Fortunately, the developers made a brand new adventure based around a different puzzle game.

Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise
I never really liked Viva Pinata on the 360, so I’m really not interested in this game. However, the DS does seem more suited for this type of gameplay.
Gameplay Video
Bangai-O Spirits
Really fantastic looking game by Treasure. The original Bangai-O was a blast, but getting ahold of it wasn’t easy. Luckily, this game seems to have all the spirit of the first game and then some.
Trailer
Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff
This is another game that I really never was a fan of. I’m sure the hardcore Tecmo Bowl fans can’t wait though.

Robocalypse
Wow, it only took developers three and a half years to make an RTS for the DS. It looks fun and the story was written by the guy who does Spongebob, which is definitely a good thing.
Trailer
Elebits DS
This may not have been the sequel that Elebits fans were looking for, but it still looks pretty fun.
Impressions
Time Hollow
This is a game that I was really looking forward to, and I’m glad that it’s getting a US release. It’s an adventure game where you have to go back in time to change certain events.
Impressions
Duke Nukem Trilogy
No one knows anything about these games except that they are coming out on the DS and PSP. Oh, and that the trailer is awesome.
Trailer
So yeah, E3 wasn’t all bad.
