While gaming journalists are busy drinking away yesterday’s disappointments scurrying around from keynote to keynote, it’s easy to miss the little things in the madness of E3. Things like articles in foreign magazines, and how Capcom’s Dead Rising has just been announced for the Nintendo Wii in Japan.
… Wait, hold up! What just happened?
According to the latest Famitsu magazine, Dead Rising for the Wii will be a port of the Xbox 360’s zombie hack-fest with a few additional features. This updated game will see more weapons, motion controls and a new boss for Frank West to smack around with potted plants and golf clubs.
Wii fans, I think it’s time for a trip to the mall.

I’m kinda skeptical :\

Hmm, always thought of picking this up for the xbox. Hopefully it heads on over to us Europeans!

Cool. I hope this will end up well.

At the very least, the game looks really awesome. Especially considering it’s scans and in relativity to the 360 version.
It’s a shame I already own the game, otherwise I’d be really excited for this. I hope it turns out good, at least.

I’m happy that the Wii is finally looking at least a little “Hardcore(TM)” and whatnot.

Here’s to hoping it doesn’t come out looking like GTA 3 as far as character models go.

Here’s to hoping the control changes make this game more fun than it was on 360. Maybe saving survivors will be a little easier this time around.

I know they are really doing this for the Japanese gamers, just as they did for RE0, as few played it on it’s original system. Still, this is great news.
Hopeful it is sent to the West, especialy Europe that needs it the most.

The controls were a pain in the ass. I loved the game, but no one can deny that. I hope they completely revamp them, even ignoring the changes the Wii would require.
At the same time, a lot of this game’s awesomeness came from the sheer amount of zombie onscreen at a time. I really wonder how that will play out on the Wii considering they’ll obviously have to drastically cut the numbers.

Now I dont have to buy and Xbox360 and hunt the game down!
Woooo!
Now if they could jsut manage that there US release. >.>
Still, RE5 for Wii would be just as good as RE4 for Wii.
Maybe this is a hint they may be considering it.

This is great news for anyone who can’t afford ( or just doesnt want) a 360, but goddamn. All these ports arent exactly great news to those of us who have already completed the games, waggle or no waggle. Come on capcom, show us something NEW!

Me = EXCITED.
OOF - 07.17.08 5:59 pm
I am not excited for bloody action games, but i still play them occasionally. i am interested in how this game turns out. just people its supposed to be so hard to do. should be easy enough. i doubt the zombies have very advanced AI, and having a hundred characters on screen at once isnt new, its been done many times before, even on the ps2. dynasty warriors anyone?
this is only zombies, how hard can it be?

Who’s up for a port of a two-year-old Xbox game?
Not me.
gojiguy - 07.21.08 2:32 pm
you’re complaining about a port of 2 years. how long has it been since okami, since resident evil 4. the latter one did really well for being a port with better controls and okami despite not selling well, still kicked ass. just get over it, not everyone has money to buy all the systems but still has enough to buy a port better or the same on one system. how many times has square release final fantasy ports only to have them sell better then new games.
