Chime In: What Do You Want to See at E3?

E3 2008 is fast approaching. Sure it’s not what it used to be, but it’s still destined to be a good time for all. Surely all sorts of awesome stuff will be shown, and many hearts will be broken. Like mine, when Coffeeman…well, lets save that for another time.

So what are you looking forward to seeing at this years E3? Let your imaginations run wild! Find out some staff hopes and dreams after the break.

Coffeeman:
Mother 3 for the US!

Mitch:
I’m going to go out on a limb here — Oh, what the hell! I’m absolutely psyched to hear any new information about Double Fine’s new joint, Brutal Legend. When Schafer first unveiled the game, I realized just how amazing it’s going to be from that alone ““ and any new information is melt-in-your-panties good for me!

That, and I’m looking forward to another year of passive aggressiveness from Nintendo on part of the Earthbound fanbase. Hurray!

Evan:
I don’t really think there will be anything too unexpected on the Nintendo front. They’ll show Animal Crossing, some new Wii Sports/Play/Fit type game, and Pikmin and stuff like that. The things I want to see most are Retro’s new game and the new Wii Zelda.

Greg:
Mother 3 for the US!

Seriously, though, I’d just like to see something to get me excited about the Wii again. Animal Crossing will help. Other than that, I’m excited about media updates on a few of the games I’ve been following. I’m not expecting anything huge out of E3, but I also hope to be surprised.

June:
Kid Icarus! But damn, I’d love to see info on the next Zelda. Nothing against original IPs, but I also like the stuff I know. :)
The structure of Twilight Princess was very much like that of OoT, so in terms of innovation, it didn’t do a whole lot. On the other hand, TP was far more detailed and–HUGE, as far as Zelda worlds go. I remember waiting two years for OoT to be finished after it was announced, and I still have early screenshots that look nothing like the finished product–the same can be said of TP, too. :)

A new Zelda won’t be for a couple of years, but I’m crossing fingers! (Do. WANT.)

Shaun:
Nintendo shows off new Animal Crossing which is backwards compatible with GC/DS versions (take items with you from previous versions). Also: It’s WiiWare.

Hokku:
Miyamoto Quest: Shigeru’s Journey – An epic fantasy RPG where you roam around the world teaching everybody the meaning of fun. The game would come with a special pair of glasses that helps you see the world in the closest scientific approximation to how vibrantly Miyamoto probably sees it.

Joe:
I just had a thought. A modern Zelda game that takes place in the present time frame. I just thought of it as i was thinking about Miyamoto Quest. I remember how he said he drew inspiration for the original game from when he was a child roaming the woods. It could be about a suburban adolescent who stumbles upon an ancient triforce relic, and it could go from there trying to track down the other pieces and descendants of the royal family.

I donno, might be dumb, but if ANY developer could make it happen and make it feel like part of the series i think Nintendo can.

Jody:
Well, being the whore for anything Zelda that I am, I would love some new Zelda info. Perhaps a WiiWare Four Swords Adventures with four-player online co-op and voice chat? Hey, a man can dream. I am also looking forward to hearing more about Chrono Trigger DS, and Star Ocean 4. I loves me some Star Ocean. I don’t know if I am expecting Nintendo to pull out anything crazy or not, but I sure hope they do. Oh, and I would love a new Kid Icarus, of course! But one thing I REALLY hope is announced soon is a new Mario Golf game. I love video game golf, and I love Mario, so it would be win-win.
