There’s only one Wii title to look forward to this week and that’s Blast Works. I’ve been waiting for this game to come out for a while now and it looks like the wait is over.

is blast works done by the same guys as gunroar? i see a lot of similarities…

YES!!! Pokemon ranch is out!
@ Lemcott:
It’s based off of a game by the same guy. (Gunroar might be included, I’m not sure.)

Actually, long enough ago to be included in last weeks On The Shelves, I actually saw a store with (at least) a slot for Blast Works. I just thought it may have been out already, and it was sold out there. Though, the timing is a bit too long if they were preparing a slot for it. Actually, it could have been two weeks ago that I saw it. Meh, I don’t trust my memory to now far back beyond a week it was.

Again. No Cho Aniki.

if gunroar is included…. Im not going to even buy blastworks for blastworks. I’ll specifically get it for GunRoar. (yipee! 40 bucks for a game I already have! this shall follow in the footsteps of res4, and geom wars! i love the wii!)

Blastworks looks like the kind of thing I was expecting/hoping WiiWare to be like.

I bought Bio Miracle Whatever on the VC last night after reading the bizzare description…
“Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa is an action game released in 1988, but it was never available outside of Japan. Players take on the role of baby Upa, a prince of the Akuyo kingdom. Upa must defeat the enemies he meets along the way by inflating them. Upa can then use these floating enemies to his advantage by bouncing off of or riding on top of them. The prince must also avoid deadly thorns and pits while keeping an eye out for helpful items such as milk (to restore health) and bells (for temporary invincibility) if he hopes to succeed.”
It’s actually pretty good! Varied gameplay for an NES game, and the mechanics are pretty interesting. One of the better purchases I’ve made on the VC.

i have Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa on Famicom Disk System. it was such a fun game. so cute too.
according to the wiki: “A recent trailer revealed that the game disc will, in addition to Blast Works, also contain playable versions of rRootage, Gunroar, and Torus Trooper (other games made by Kenta Cho) as unlockables, in addition to the original TUMIKI Fighters itself.” [Blast Works is based on Kenta Cho’s TUMIKI Fighters]

…that’s it. I need Blast Works. I didn’t realize it was essentially by the same guy who created rRootage.
