4cr forumite Fa1kor recently tied the knot in what may be the geekiest wedding ever. Disney songs were played during the cocktail hour. The Bridesmaids walked out to the theme from My Neighbor Totoro while the Groomsmen were treated to the Zelda theme. After the couple was announced, the course clear tune from Super Mario Bros. was played.
Of course, the musical selection wasn’t quite enough for the couple. They had Paul Pape craft custom Mii figurines for the centerpiece. Those Miis will actually be featured in an upcoming issue of Brides Magazine.
The real centerpiece of this wedding? The Mario Kart cake! Take a look at that beauty. My mouth is watering. Think they have any leftovers?
Click past the cut for more pictures of the cake and the Mii figurines. Be sure to leave a comment and wish those two the best!

Agreed. Even I’m not that crazy.
P.S. Poor Toad.

Well all my best to the happy couple, may your marriage be long and true.
How did the cake hold it’s structure like that, it seems like it’s very top heavy. Irrigarless, it looks very yummy, and i’m sure it will be somehitng to remember for eyars to come…
Brins0 - 06.03.08 7:16 pm
I wonder how they cut the cake without toppling it?

Violet - 06.04.08 12:15 am
Thanks!
DREW KORA’s comments were hilarious but It was actually the union of an Asian chick and a Hispanic guy.
Party favors were plantable bookmarks, the geeks are also bookworms and green. The sugary sculptures of the cake were removable; they became additional party favors.
There was an internal mechanism holding the cake in place but it was still a little nerve-racking to cut the first slice on the side of the mountain. After the first slice, the cake topper (castle) was removed, then the cake had to be cut in a certain way and in a certain order to release the chocolate yumminess inside.

Congratulations! That cake is AWESOME.
Devlin - 06.04.08 1:35 am
I bet Kotaku’s gonna pick up on this eventually but I bet they’re tired of game cakes.
Pedro - 06.04.08 2:28 am
You know they would both have to be big nerds for this to totally work. I’m sure it wasn’t just one person. Not to mention it’s not usually the guy who gets a say in the wedding celebration plans.
It’s great to see other adults who have no problem sharing their passion for being themselves and not caring if they enjoy some of the more fun and whimsical things in life.
I don’t think you have to be a out of control fan to do something like this either. I bet they had a blast and everyone was laid back and had a good time too.
I can only dream when I get married I can do something that fun, but sadly I don’t see that happening, as nerdy as my girlfriend it
Maverick - 06.04.08 3:32 am
If i ever had a cake like that in front of me..i would just have to ignore my stomach, cutting into such a masterpiece would feel wrong
by the way how did they cut it since its not the standard shape lol
yk - 06.04.08 3:52 am
DORK CHILDREN MAKE!
jd - 06.04.08 4:32 am
Wow, now that is definitely one of the coolest wedding cakes I’ve ever seen. Mario Kart? Miis? Nintendo music? Awesome.
Well, congratulations to Fa1kor. Here’s to a happy and healthy marriage with plenty of good times to come. I also think it’s really cool that their Miis are going to appear in Brides Magazine. And speaking of Miis, nice job to Paul Pape.
Paul Gale - 06.04.08 5:39 pm
This almost makes me want to get married.
Almost.
MR. NULL - 06.04.08 7:33 pm
Cool, albeit in a wedding/kid’s birthday party sort of deal. Oh well, at least it’s not a Vegas Wedding with a priest dressed up as Elvis.
Congratulations.
questworld - 06.04.08 9:25 pm

Cowlix - 06.04.08 9:43 pm

And big congratulations!
amalthya - 06.11.08 12:19 pm
Awesome cake. And neat to see the Miis. I have a friend who used the same guy for the Miis.
Dawn B. - 06.11.08 4:36 pm
It was made by Let Them Eat Cake:
http://www.letthemeatcake.net/
There was cake inside the bottom 2/3 of this sugary sculpture, the top part was made up of candy and frosting. The cake innards were black chocolate cake filled with bittersweet chocolate ganache, chocolate buttercream and chocolate mousse.
MAL - 06.11.08 4:52 pm
