The folks at Capcom have done it again! You might have heard of an incident resulting in the internet exploding earlier this week, when fans found out that Okami, recently rereleased for the Wii, bore an IGN watermark in the background cover art. The horror. Actually, I didn’t notice it until someone pointed it out. I glanced at the cover for all of two seconds before popping the disc in and playing through action-adventure excellence.
However, if this has been an inconvenience, worry no more! Capcom is offering replacement covers, free of charge, to anyone who purchased the original version… and damn, they’re gorgeous!
Hit the jump for a close-up of the sleeves:

Classy work, guys and gals.
Read the apology here.
Request your own replacement cover here.

I ordered the green one to frame and put on m’wall. I don’t mind the ign watermark. Although I can’t stand that “9.5 OUT OF 10!” thing on there. what the hell were they thinking?

I ordered the pink one for my wall. I own the PS2 version, so I somehow feel justified for making them send me one.
Are they really not putting all the normal game box crap on them?

how are you supposed to get the replacement in Canada? Do we have a separate form to fill out?

@Matt: I filled in province and postal code where state and ZIP are listed. It seemed to go through, so we’ll see in a couple of weeks!

You know, someone could build a colection of the three with a friend or two and scan them all for everyone to print themselves.
Or buy three copies and bug capcom to send you one for each, sell the extra two and then scan all three.
This little thing may just jump the price on the game on places like ebay and the like.
I dont really mind the watermark but its nice of capcom to do that for the fans. I think I might crack down and buy it now just to get that nice green art. Always wanted to try the game anyway.

One of them is the regular game box minus the symbol and the other two don’t have the information on them but they are kinda pritty
