Wired reports that the currently Japan-only Everybody’s Nintendo Channel will be coming to North America on May 12th, the same day WiiWare launches here. For those of you not in the know, Everybody’s Nintendo Channel offers streaming videos of Nintendo games and other features, upcoming game lists, downloadable DS demos that you can send to your DS via wifi (like an at-home demo station), as well as letting users write reviews of WiiWare games that they have played for at least an hour. The channel will be available for free from the Wii Shop Channel. I for one have been looking forward to this channel since it was announced. May 12th is going to be a busy day in my living room!

Nintendo to Everyone: HEY GUYS WE’RE GOING TO PUT ALL OF OUR BIG STUFF IN ONE TWO WEEK PERIOD AND THEN LEAVE NOTHING FOR THE NEXT MONTHS AFTER THAT!
Seriously, WiiWare, Wii Fit and this all within the span of less than two weeks? This isn’t even fair. (What with this being after the month of Okami and Mario Kart, which was after Super Smash Bros. Brawl month)
I don’t even have enough time with what I have, let alone all this.

I believe there was a CAD comic about the fall of 2004 wherein Halo 2, Half-Life 2, Fable, and a bunch of other AAA titles were hitting the XBox and PC all at once, and Ethan plotted to freeze time so he could play all those games the day they came out. What you said there reminded me of that comic, Falcon.
More on topic, I’ve been really looking forward to this channel. My DS is getting lonely, this will give it something to do.

That channel sounds great. Too bad I don’t have ANY SPACE left to download it!
Boot Guy Joe - 04.24.08 2:12 am
That’s great! That also meens Europe, right?
Of course not, that would made SENCE.
Conan-san - 04.24.08 2:33 am
Conan-san, was that horrible spelling on purpose? Hopefully us PALers get it same day as WiiWare as well, since I think that is one of the few things not delayed for 17 years.

Everybody’s Nintendo Channel for Everybody (in the US, which means Everybody - Land of the brave home of the free and prioritized people)
Long live Europe! (And all the others.)

*Groan* at the post title. I’d love to think that North Americans’s weren’t so ignorant of the world around them, but they’re really not helping me do so.

DS Demos = epic. Why didn’t they think of this a long time ago? Though demos in store gave a reason to go to stores, it seems all this will do is hurt business

WoooooooooT !
I have been looking forwards to the Everybody’s Nintendo Channel for so long now. I cannot wait to download demos from my living room straight to my DS.

the only thing behind the post title is me trying to be funny, not me saying every other country sucks. not everything is always so black and white.
JodyAnthony - 04.24.08 9:14 am
It’s just Nintendo Channel and not Everybody’s Nintendo Channel tho.
siro - 04.24.08 9:18 am
To be fair, the Channel is not for everybody. Not only is it only announced for NA so far, but if you don’t have a Wii, you won’t be able to use it.
OMG Jody, you’re so Wii owner-centric. What about those of us with only lonely GameCubes? Why does Nintendo hate us?
Megashaun - 04.24.08 9:38 am
well places like Korea won’t have it either. But leave it to the Europeans to only focus on europe!
JodyAnthony - 04.24.08 10:35 am
DS demo station sounds awesome! Now Nintendo owners will have something similar to the PS3 and PSP connectivity.
Speaking of lonely DS-s, The World Ends With You defiantly drew me back to my DS. I am wary about Mario Kart though. I’ll try it before I buy it.
Rabbit8807 - 04.24.08 11:04 am
Its also only those with Wifi who can get it.
/jumping on the “Offended by Everybody” bandwagon.
