The Pokémon Mystery Dungeon sequels, Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness, reached the hands of many North American fans today! In lieu of dungeon-crawl lovers scattering to stores across the continent, Poké fever has spread like wildfire. If you’re like me and excited by the release of more pocket monster goodness, here’s a little tidbit for next month!
On Saturday May 31st and Sunday June 1st, Toys”R”Us will be holding an event from noon to 4pm where you can score your own legendary Pokémon, Darkrai! There’s no word on whether this event will be happening outside of the United States. We’ll keep you posted as more news becomes available.
Hit the jump for the full press release.
[Edit]: Got a response from Pokémon USA: “This download is currently planned for distribution via US Toys R Us locations only.” Sorry, non-American gamers, it looks like Darkrai won’t be coming your way.

New Pokémon Stuff at Toys”R”Us!
Not only is the weather improving, but the school year is almost over! What better way to enjoy the good times than a visit to the special Pokémon area located just outside the Electronics area at your local Toys”R”Us.
For the entire month of May, you’ll experience a decked-out Pokémon paradise! Stock up on the latest Pokémon Trading Card Game expansions, Nintendo video games, ALS video game accessories–including the Pelican character stylus for the Nintendo DS–and toys and plush from Jakks Pacific. Plus, starting on May 27th, the DVD of the latest Pokémon movie: Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai!
Here’s your chance to jump into the latest Pokémon adventure, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time or Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness. In these games, the latest in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series, you wake up to discover that you are a Pokémon and can communicate with and recruit other Pokémon to help you on your journey!
And stay tuned for information about the free distribution of the mysterious Darkrai–star of the new DVD Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai–exclusively at Toys”R”Us on May 31st and June 1st, from non to 4pm–, for your Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl game! (And if you don’t already own one of these games, that’s even MORE reason to stop by!)

I hate our distributor in Sweden.
We got Mew last year for GBA. -_- That’s late.
When will we ever see Darkrai in that case? -_-
Stan64 - 04.21.08 6:17 am
I still haven’t caught the Lait@s from my Eon Ticket from, what was that, 2004?
Kyattsuai - 04.21.08 7:48 am
I really hope that they will give Darkrai out in Canada. But, I think there will be Darkrai available in Pokemon Ranger 2. Just like how Manaphy was in the first Pokemon Ranger. Although I would rather get it for free at Toys’r'us.

I’d have to hire a little kid to go get that Pokemon for me… no way I’d go in person.
Steven - 04.21.08 11:41 am
I’d rather have a Mew or Celebi…. Darkrai just doesn’t look like a Pokemon.
At any rate, when will we get Shaymin?
videogamer3586 - 04.21.08 4:10 pm
I did feel a little bit weird going to Toys R Us to get Manaphy as a 22-year-old male. I guess I’m gonna feel even weirder about doing the same thing as a 23-year-old male, won’t I? But that’s not gonna stop me. Oh no. That’s not gonna stop me.
And what’s up with these Mystery Dungeon games? Are they actually any good, or are they just your typical, terrible Pokemon spinoff games? So far my experience has been that the main series games are great and everything else (aside from Snap) has been just intolerable trash.

Mystery dungeon is okay, not great. The second definately seems better than the first.
