Hello Player 1
Here’s some good news for Zelda fans! Graphic novel publisher VIZ Media intends to bring the Zelda no Densetsu series to North America starting October 7th this year. What does this mean to readers on this side of the pond? Well, soon we’ll be getting our hands on English adaptations to an epic 200-page manga based off the Legend of Zelda series. VIZ has yet to list details on its website, but retailers RightStuf and Simon & Schuster have slipped some juicy morsels for us to taste. The latter lists Akira Himekawa as the book’s writer and illustrator.
According to Anime News Network, Akira Himekawa (a pen name for two persons) is responsible for working on the following graphic novels:
Zelda no Densetsu: Fushigi no Kinomi Daichi no Shou
Zelda no Densetsu: Fushigi no Kinomi Jikuu no Shou
Zelda no Densetsu: Kamigami no Triforce
Zelda no Densetsu: Mujura no Kamen
Zelda no Densetsu: Toki no Ocarina
Zelda no Densetsu: Yotsu no Tsurugi
I was lucky enough to come across scans of the Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask graphic novels few years ago, and have hunted for them since. For purists, their stories deviate from those of the games, but in a way that adds depth and realism to an already stellar plot. I wholly recommend picking this one up.
