My Wedding Invitation
As some of you already know, a week from today I am getting married. So yes, as it turns out even geeky gamers can find love. Of course that doesn’t stop me from continuing to be that geeky gamer. My wedding invitation proves this. Be warned that it is more than a bit silly and lame, but it’s also, I hope, kind of cute.
The scan is not so good, but this is the actual invitation I sent out to my family, friends and co-workers. The fact that they all liked it goes to show how mainstream the Wii has become. I was really surprised than my non-gamer fiancée even let me make this for our formal invitation.
It gets worse, on the back I snuck in a reference to the Super Mario series that I don’t think anyone other than you guys would even understand.
The fact that after this she still wants to get married tells me that she really is the one.

That is adorable! My husband and I went for the traditional invitations for our wedding last year, but there was video game music during the reception, the tables were FF-themed and we got our Wii as a present! Congratulations!!

But I’ve got to ask — did you make these yourself? They’re pretty accurate of Mii’s as far as the head shapes, facial features, and whatnot. Really nice photoshop work, or something else? Again, awesome work! Can’t wait to see some footage of the ceremony itself.

My wife would have never let me get away with something like this. haha. Although she has become quite the gamer herself since our wedding a little more than a year ago.
On another note, I had a friend I use to work with that had somewhat of a similar situation. He isn’t a huge gamer, but he is probably the biggest star wars fan I know. He wanted to make his wedding all star-wars, like his wife being princess leia and everything. His wife thought that was a little too much though, so the extent of his star wars wedding was a han and leia cake topper. His wife does, however, let him have his own star wars room in their house. lol.

Hmmm… Wii Wedding. The prequel to Wii Children and Wii Divorce, the most acclaimed game of the series . I hear that Wii Spousal Support is supposed to be coming out soon. Wii Dying Alone and Unloved might be pushing the series a bit, kind of like how they have started to run the Final Fantasy series a bit long. Anyways, I’m just kidding. Love the invitations. They’re really great and indeed very nerdy. My girl is also pretty nerdy and loves the invites. We were wondering how you did it because we are getting married soon and want to use Miis on our invites as well. We were looking into ways to get our Miis onto the computer and different ways to do it, but we couldn’t really figure it out. So we thought we’d ask the guy who already did it.
