Earlier today, Atlus announced that Summon Night: Twin Age for the Nintendo DS will be making its rounds to North America come May 20th. Wait, am I getting this right? Another gem of the Summon Night RPG series will be setting foot on western shores? Atlus, we’re not worthy!

The Summon Night: Swordcraft Story games for the GBA were fantastic, tastefully mixing choose-your-own story elements with good humor, weaponsmithing, and real-time battling fun. After Christmas, I saw neglected copies of Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2 at KB Toys for $9.99, which brought pangs to my heart. All those lonely games, standing in a row, with no one to love or praise them! If you like RPGs and have a GBA, DS or Game Boy Micro, you owe yourself a favor to give these a try.

    • ATLUS CONJURES SUMMON NIGHT: TWIN AGE ™ FOR NINTENDO DS ™
Unsheathe your stylus and vanquish the enemy this May 20th

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA — MARCH 18th, 2008 — Atlus U.S.A., Inc., a top 5 publisher in 2007 for overall game review scores*, today announced Summon Night: Twin Age for Nintendo DS, a fully stylus-driven action RPG set in the popular Summon Night universe. The stylus is your key to the world of Clardona, whether as your swinging sword or your shimmering wall of fire. Summon Night: Twin Age is currently scheduled to bring its precise controls, beautifully animated graphics, and addictive action RPG gameplay to the Nintendo DS on May 20th.

      In the World of Clardonia
This story takes place on a world in which the Spirits are involved in all natural activity. On this world, there were two opposing races: the humans and the Kascuza. The two races constantly battled for power and land, and a short-lived peace began after the humans finally pushed the Kascuza off the mainland and onto the large island nation of Jarazi.

The humans studied a type of magic known as “Summoning,” which was used to call forth the powers of the Spirits and to bring creatures from other worlds into this one. Practitioners of this magic were known as “Summoners,” and they constructed great facilities to research the Spirits to increase their magical power. A terrible accident happened in one of those facilities during an experiment. The cause of this accident was a young girl, who was forced to participate in the research against her will, and the destruction caused when her powers went out of control. It is believed that the girl died in this accident.

However, that young girl survived the incident, along with a boy that she accidentally summoned from another world…

Seven years have passed since that accident. The children have been rescued by a well-meaning Summoner and were hidden with the Kascuza of Jarazi, where they lived peaceful lives together as brother and sister. Just a few days before their coming of age ceremony, the Spirits began to go wild for no apparent reason. This had an effect on the environment, causing the seas to become unpredictable, the plants to wither, and the animals to become violent, threatening the Kascuza on the island.

The two decided to return to the human lands in an attempt to find the cause of the Spirits’ behavior, and to bring peace back to their once-happy lives.
