Have you ever wanted a lime green DS Lite? How about your own yellow, Pikachu edition DS, or the red and orange Metroid DS pictured above, to show your utmost devotion to a fandom?

The good news is this: thanks to ColorWare, it can be done! The bad news is that, like most nice things, it’ll cost you, starting from US$99 if you send in your system, or $229 if you want to buy one from the site. Ouch! So, is it worth it? If you’re swimming in wads of dough, why not? I’m more than happy with my gold Zelda edition DS, but playing around with the design applet is still good fun.

ColorWare has other cash-burning options too, including a paint job for your Nintendo Wii. These start from $99, but you’ll have to find your own console first!
