Reminder: Go See ‘Be Kind, Rewind’ On the 22nd!
If you’re anybody who’s anybody, you’re either one of two things: a fan of Michel Gondry, or someone who has at least given his work the time of day. If you’re not any of those two things, there’s a good chance that you’re not really anybody. Don’t fret though! Consider yourself one of the lucky ones! On the 22nd, ‘Be Kind, Rewind’ ““ Gondry’s latest joint ““ hits theaters! Go see it, and you’ll be on the list again!
Starring Jack Black and Mos Def as owners of a VHS rental store in Jersey, the movie follows what happens when Black comes into their store completely magnetized, thus erasing the data on every tape they own. In a pinch, the guys have to utilize Gondry’s penchant for folky special effects to re-record shortened versions (’swedes’) of all time American classics.

This is one of my most anticipated movies to see this year; no matter how many times I have seen the trailer I still crack up when Black asks Def “are you deaf!?”

Oh man, the fake celebs xxx page on the swede’d Internet is terrific.
I was a little less excited about this movie after the first trailer for some reason, but this one’s got me psyched again. Maybe I’m just in the correct dopey mood for it this time.
Gondry + Jack Black always seemed like a surrealistically perfect match for this concept and Mos Def/Danny Glover look excellent in this, as well. I can’t believe it’s coming out Friday!

Holy cow – I remember when I first heard of this movie a year or so ago. I loved the concept, it did great at Sundance and Cannes, so I hope it’s good, and I can’t wait to see it! Holy cow, this friday already?! AWESOME!!!!

Also, did anyone catch in the trailer the little throw to Eternal Sunshine? (Jack black running through darkening bookcases in PJs, much like Jim Carrey in that recognizable scene – but it’s Jack Black, lol) So looking forward to this!

yea, I was looking forward to this movie when it was soupposed to come out in December….than I was still excited when it was moved to January. Now, I’m still gonna see it day one, but it isn’t gonna be the “ZOMG AWESOME” it could have been…

I can’t wait to see this! My wife and I are big fans of Michel Gondry. I love the whole plot idea of this film. Definitely going to be a good movie.
