Chime In: Your Favorite Overlooked SNES Games

I didn’t have a lot of things to say on the Genesis post, but I can talk for hours about overlooked SNES games and I think that a lot of you here can too. I am going to try come up with the best really overlooked titles and stay away from things like Earthbound, Actraiser, and Lufia 2. Onto the list!

Aerobiz
Aerobiz is an incredibly fun game, especially if you are a fan of board games. The game puts you at the head of an airline which you have to manage nearly every aspect of. You decide where to build airports, the details of the flights, and what airplanes you wish to use. In addition to directing what the airports do, you are in charge of the advertising and negotiation aspects of the game.

It really requires careful planning and spending of funds to be good at this game. It’s not just a game that you can play and win the first time you pick it up, it’ll take a little time. But it’s worth taking that time because it is a fun and rewarding game.

EVO Search for Eden
EVO is a very unique game. It’s a 2D platformer with RPG-esque elements where you use your experience points (or EVO points as they are called) to upgrade different parts of your body. You can upgrade jaws, body, fins, etc. depeding on what era you are currently in.

The best thing about this game is that you aren’t just going for the most powerful body or the most powerful jaws. Each part has different stats it raises, for instance, slick bodies usually increase your speed but the tougher armor lowers speed.

Now on the bad side, the levels really aren’t the strong point of this game, but that didn’t stop me from beating it more than five times.

Jim Powers
I’ll just come out and say it: this is a hard game. For comparison’s sake, it is probably a slight bit harder than Contra 3. It is also about the same length as Contra 3, which is pretty short. However, the game is so enjoyable and difficult that it will keep you busy for a long time.

The game is split into three distinct level types. The platforming levels are very hard, but really fun. The second type of level is the top-down levels. These levels are not nearly as hard as the others, but they will still give you lots of trouble. The last level type is the hardest. These levels are horizontal shooter levels and then are some of the hardest levels in gaming history.

There were many more that I wanted to mention, but I’ll leave that for you. What are your favorite overlooked SNES games?
