The industry lost a true champion yesterday when Retro Studios programmer Mark Haigh-Hutchinson lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. Mark has been part of the gaming industry for decades, starting with the classic Paperboy. He went on to join LucasArts, where he had a hand in such hits as Rebel Assault, Rogue Squadron, and Dark Forces. Shortly after its formation, Retro Studios snapped up Haigh-Hutchinson. He served as a senior engineer on all three Metroid Prime titles, and took an active role in the trilogy’s camera system.
Mark was forty-three years old. He leaves behind a wife and two children. Through his work, he brought us hours and hours of joy. We’ll miss you Mark!

Rest In Peace, good sir. You shall be sorely, sorely missed.

Bloody hell, that truely is a great loss for the industry.
Look at the list of games he worked on, so many top notch titles that pretty much span my entire gaming life.
I will be thinking about him while I struggle to finish Metroid Prime 3.
