Smash Bros. Roundup: Week 26

Online gambling in a Nintendo game! Sort of, anyway. In Brawl’s newly-announced Spectator mode, you can kick back with a beer, bet in-game coins on online matches, and watch the thrilling events unfold before your very eyes. I wonder if it’ll catch on.

I think Spectator mode could be really cool, but in traditional Nintendo fashion, it looks pretty gimped. Why can’t we at least see the names and stats of participants? Going a step further, imagine how cool it would be to be able to view scheduled matches between the world’s best players. As it is, I don’t see myself using the mode too often. You?
