Stage Builder was the big news this week. With the ability to save your stages to SD cards, send them to friends, and upload them for random use by others, the developers really appear to have put a lot of effort into the feature. The week’s news went as follows:
Week 24 Updates
10/29 — Stage Builder
10/30 — Classic
10/31 — The Summit
11/01 — Meta Knight: Final Smash
11/02 — On-Screen Appearances
The Stage Builder update mentions that controls for constructing stages vary by controller, and in line with that, I really hope that putting them together with the Wiimote is as simple and intuitive as it seems it should be. Can’t wait to see the craziness people come up with.

World or Warcraft? Pfff…
You want a REALLY addicting game you can truly play FOREVER?
Try Brawl.

The stage builder… when I was little, when Smash Bros first came out, that was my dream. Now, it is a reality. Sadly I’ve totally lost my kiddish enthusiasm and only see the chore of having to make the level before you can play it.
However, I’m sure there will be lots of fun had making really messed-up stages, like maybe one tailored specifically for those all-jigglypuff battles… that sort of stupid crap. It is what we love.

Cant wait to see the Stage builder abuse.
Sure seems Smash Bros Brawl is gonna be mega feature packed O-o
Like crazy Feature packed.
I just hope they dont suddenly pull off a “Duke Nukem Forever”
Im glad to see the on screen appearences come back. I had missed those.
Oh and whats with Balloon fight’s fish doing in Ice climber’s stage?
Was kinda hoping for some Balloon fight cameos somewhere. Well, of the actual balloons atleast.

Some people were complaining about how the “stage of the day” disappears when the day’s over, but I think the main way of getting stages will be by downloading files on a computer and transferring them to an SD card (from people who made them on the Wii and saved them to their SD card and then took the card and uploaded the stages on it to the intertube).
Also, I’m not really against any characters, but I hope that the Balloon Fight fish being in the Ice Climbers level will make people stop thinking BF will be playable.

Stage Builder is pretty awesome, but Meta Knight’s Final Smash kind of disappointed me. I was expecting Dynablade to show up or something.

Haha, I thought that was the fish from Balloon Fight.
Yeah, since you can trade stages freely (as they are saved on the SD card) the stage-of-the-day is kind of a neat bonus to me…
“Hmm…I think I want to play Smash Bros today…oh, what’s this level? This is kind of cool.”
And oh yeah, Dynablade would be kind of awesome. Actually, I want Dynablade to be an assist trophy.

If its anywhere as an intuitive as the Mario Vs. DK 2 level editor it should be good. A level editor is something i’ve always wanted, and the stage-of-the-day seems nice.
There should be more levels based on old NES games.
Also, I second Dynablade.

Another good week for Super Smash Bros. Brawl updates, but the highlight was without a doubt, Monday’s Stage Builder info. That just gave the game infinite replayability. Nice job, Nintendo.

This is unrelated, but I have to say NiggyTardust is incredibly mediocre. Definitely nowhere even near the top 50% of hip-hop I’ve heard this year. It’s too much Reznor, I think… but not in the super good Year Zero way.
Still I gave them $5 for the concept. At least they pulled it off well unlike a certain other group.

Just when I thought Brawl couldn’t get any better, they drop another megaton.
Also glad to see the appearances return. Yup. Smash is complete.

tony:
first of all, very good call on year zero. amazing album.
but im totally digging niggy tardust. blew my mind the first time i heard it, and ive been listening to it nonstop since then. hasn’t really gotten even a bit old for me yet. youre right about it being a lot of reznor — if you look at the credits, it’s pretty obvious that it’s just as much a reznor album as it is a saul williams album — but it all really works for me.
