Hearing me gush about the Mother 3 translation projects is like watching your local fire department detonating old cars instead of selling them back to someone in need of cheap transportation – it’s compelling at first and every other time a car explodes, it just gets better and better. That is to say, I like Mother 3 and I’m really eager to see it hit the Earthbound community.
That said, the Unified Mother 3 Project (the synthesis between Starmen.Net and Mother3.org’s individual translation projects) just started up a progress blog. Every now and then, the guys working on the project will chime in and let everyone know that something is actually happening.
As Tomato states in the latest entry, as of this writing:
Been working hard on the first draft translation. About 70% done with the first draft, MAYBE 75% by the time I go to bed if I work hard and fill up on caffeine
Can’t wait! Stay tuned to that, and as always, major news will show up here as well.

Awesome, I just snapped it up at $20…when this translation is done, I want to do this legally rather than just hunting down a ROM on the internet. I think everyone else should too. On principle, as a real EarthBound/Mother fan.

People online already spoiled the game for me, but I still really want to play the translation when it comes out either way. I never got to play Earthbound, but from all of what I saw, as well as what bits I’ve seen and heard of Mother 3, I anticipate this very much. Maybe not like some fans, but still…
