Update: As this website suggests, the quote from Games.fr may be erroneous. However, the source also doesn’t have a lot to back up its claims besides a “I heard it from the source”. As usual, take this with a grain of salt.
You might recall that, when Pokemon Battle Revolution was discovered to have had its own set of friend codes (in lieu of a rumored ‘universal friend code’), the Jedi Council on Dantooine reported an unprecedented disturbance in the Force. Almost, as if thousands of voices cried out in frustration and were suddenly silenced. Truly, it was the end for so many Nintendo fans everywhere. Civil wars sparked up incessantly, and the Nintendo world was in an almost perpetual state of strife.
Then, through an interview with the Mario Strikers: Charged developers, we found out that we maybe jumped the gun just a little bit. According to Justin Doweswell, Striker’s producer, every Mii is assigned a friend code that simply doesn’t change from game to game.
G – And what about the Mii-specific codes?
Each Mii created generates a Mii code which never changes. This code will be used for all online games in the future.
Now, this doesn’t mean that Nintendo will retain a list of your friends from game to game – instead, specific Miis are assigned unique, permanent friend codes that will be used universally. It isn’t Xbox Live, but hey, just months ago, people were ready to go wading with their Wiis. It’s a lot better than we were expecting, right?

LOL @ the picture and Mitch’s handsome persistence.

But this still doesn’t mean that the games are gonna have universal codes, does it? Otherwise, what’s the big deal if we still have to have one friend code per game?
GabrielTheDominican - 05.29.07 12:27 am
Games don’t have specific codes. To add you as a friend, they add your one code.

Warning, lol.

You’re right Mitch, at least things are looking better for Wii’s online setup. Hopefully they continue this way too.

i dont get it

What this means is that instead of having a friend code for each game, you just have a friend code for each Mii that you play with online.
It helps people not get confused with you’ve got multiple people playing online with one system, and actually seems like a good idea.
I really hope that this is correct.

It’s a great idea, I think. Nintendo are sooo afraid of child predators (and rightly so), this will likely give parents a fair amount of control over their kids while not getting so much in the way of grown assed gamers (like me) who are out of control anyways.

@Mizzle Whilst of course it is important to protect our children the best way to do this is to be actually there to watch over them while they play. A code or blocking software is no substitute for a adult supervision, a line of thought I wished the N.S.P.C.C. in Great Britain followed. They are campaigning to have all computers sold include blocking software set to the highest possible levels.
Studies show that a child is vastly more at risk of abuse from their own family members a sad fact that all of this talk about internet paedophiles helps to obscure.
Having said that, I am in favour of friend codes, there is only so much rascist, sexist and homophobic abuse I can stand from strangers before I want to reach down the series of tubes to throttle the little swine before they can procreate.
Getting online and playing Strikers is simple and easy, much less annoying than geting a match in Halo or UT. Now all I have to do is wait for somebody on my friend list to get a copy

Falafelkid - http://nintendo-revolution.blogspot.com/ - confirmed it to be fake.

that sounds like something I blatantly don’t care about. If it doesn’t mean that I dont’t have to input a 12-digit code for each friend I have for each game I have then I don’t care.
