Nintendo held its Media Summit in Redmond today, and despite the embargo on the stuff everyone really wants to hear about — MP3/Smash Bros. hands-on reports, etc. — until Friday, some nice tidbits have already hit the web. Hit the links below to see what went down, and we’ll keep you updated as more info continues to surface.
The Regginator Speaketh
Rumor: NP Outsourced
MP3: Corruption Screens
Smash Bros. Brawl Screens
Boogie Hands-On
Carnival Games Hands-On
The Bigs Hands-On

Oh shi….That’s it?
Ooooohh, the embargo. Good, I have something to look forward to on Friday now.

I hope friday will have better info than the release of the smash bros site

These news embargos really grind my gears. WTF is the point of an embargo from tuesday until friday?
silkylove - 05.22.07 11:46 pm
Yeah.. this is stupid/annoying why cant they just let the press tell us now!! We have waited so long for new news already..

Well, Nintendo’s Media Summit was definitely an eventful one, today, but even more information will come tomorrow. Hopefully by Friday, all confidential ties will be released and the masses can enjoy everything. At least for the time being though, everyone can be happy with Reggie Fils-Aime’s speech on Nintendo’s recent success stories. Here’s to a few more days…

How do they dare making us wait. Our lives are difficult enough compared to people who don’t even have electricity.

I think NP is dead, they pulled the plug on the call in phone service and they will pull the plug on the magazine. They may be looking for ways to keep it on life support but that will not last very long. They should just focus on nintendo.com and have the back issue on the VC

I heard that, in response to Sony’s Africa, Nintendo announced “Cuba.” That would be why there is such a heavy embargo right now.

Is it me, or do those MP3 screens look worse than the last batch from 2006?
Maybe this is rose-tinted glasses talking here, but they look worse than MP2 to me as well.

Judging from this Kotaku post it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting much info on MP3 or Smash Bros even after the embargo lifts.

^My link is broken. Anyway, here’s the relevant part from Kotaku:
“For the rest of the goods, make sure you set your Kotaku checking alarm clocks for 8 AM PST this Friday. I’ll have plenty to show you starting then. However, those two high profile Nintendo titles mentioned in my previous post? You’re gonna have to wait for E3 or make do with some (now) old Metroid Prime 3: Corruption screens.”

As for the MP3 screens, I thought that too, but if you look at some of them there is what looks like some weird ghosting, or at least they look fuzzy in a way they probably shouldn’t be. I have to wonder if they took photos of a monitor or something.
