Sakura Taisen Comes to DS, Vinnk Cries Tears of Joy

In a recent statement that will excite me and, at most, maybe a dozen other Western gamers, SEGA announced that it is working on a DS installment of its popular Sakura Taisen (Sakura Wars) series. This popular “Steam Punk” SRPG series has never been released in English and it is unlikely that the DS incarnation will either.

This new game is a departure from the standard “strategy RPG with dating sim elements” style that made the series famous. The DS version will be a “Dungeon RPG”. I am not sure how I feel about that, but I am happy that SEGA will be bringing back characters from previous games, including all 3 squadrons (Japan, Paris ad New York). If you understand what I just wrote, I am sure you already plan to buy this game. I know I do. For the rest of you, keep coming back to 4cr, I hope to introduce you all to this fantastic series.
