While wasting time during my lunch break I visited the NanaOn-Sha website. For those not familiar with the company, they are the maker of popular music games such as Parappa the Rapper and Vib Ribbon (a personal favorite of mine). Actually this company is arguably responsible for starting the music game boom.
Anyway, I went there to see what they were working on these days and read the following message “NanaOn-sha is currently in the process of developing and producing an all new casual music game for portable devices!” Now of course this is just speculations, but I know of a causal portable device that would be perfect. NanaOn-Sha typically works with Sony platforms but I know they also have Nintendo DS dev. kits since they were the company that made the popular Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop games Namco-Bandai.
Are they making something for the DS (and/or the PSP)? I certainly hope so, because as great as Ouendan and Electroplankton are, I have a very large appetite for music games on the go. I hope I’m right on this one.
I also hope the second current project, the one for “all the family” hits another system aimed at casual gamers, but I’ve already set myself up for disappointment enough for one day.

hmm…as much as i want some ds parappa love, im thinking new franchise from the ‘all new’ wording…

I guess no one will believe me, but earlier today in gollege I thought about how coll it would be to have Parappa on the DS!
Be it Parappa or an all new project, I’m all for it.

I think its called rhythmica and portable platforms mean mobile phones… check link below…
“Matsuura then gave a quick demonstration of this idea in practice – with his current project, a one button casual game called Rhythmica. A handheld game for mobile platforms, it plays with the user’s own mp3 files stored on the hardware, and it creates a moving visual motif with them. While the song plays, “mysteriously letters appear one after another” on the screen, and the player must press the button the moment they see a letter that is part of the song’s title.”
