Although it was more or less confirmed at the game’s announcement, we have received word that the upcoming Mario Strikers: Charged will have online multiplayer for up to four players. According to the official website, players can compete worldwide in both ranked and unranked matches.
Mario Strikers: Charged hits Europe on May 25th, Nintendo hasn’t announced release dates for the rest of the world yet. Not only does this mean that they gets the game before us, it also means that they will have online Wii titles before we do.
I dug the arcade gameplay in the original Strikers, but I personally can’t wait to see what could be done with a Winning Eleven for the Wii. Make it so, Konami!

mario has boobs on that picture :O

I thought PBR was supposed to be the first online game in america, this must mean that Strikers will come out after PBR..
Ethan - 04.03.07 1:17 pm
which is good news for UK Pokémon fans, unfortunately PBR is no good without Diamond & Pearl if you really want to play the game… and no confirmed date for either DS or Wii Pokémon games… confusing!

Am I the only one that thinks it’s wierd that Mario Strikers is the first Wii Mario Sports game, considering it was the last one to come out for the Gamecube?
Kyattsuai - 04.03.07 3:53 pm
This isn’t news. Both Battalion WarsWii and this were both announced at the same time and as online.

@ Kyattsuai
Well it doesn’t make sense for them to release Mario Tennis right now because people are still playing alot of Wii Sports tennis. Also it doesn’t make sense to release Mario Golf because Super Swing Golf and Tiger Woods just came out. That would leave only Baseball, which would make sense because the season just started.

OMFG??!!!! Europe gets a game before North America or Japan?
Hell has offically frozen over. Next thing you know, Mario and Sonic will be in a game together, and there will be a new Nights game….
yanipheonu - 04.03.07 9:57 pm
Uh, Europe got Polarium and Trace Memory first, to name two.
Also yay.
Fank - 04.03.07 10:04 pm
Wait, was it ever thought it wouldn’t have online play.
I remember them telling us it would since the Games Convention at Leipzig.
I waiting for a return of Nintendo World Cup.
