Lots of stuff to talk about, so without further ado…
First up, IGN says Godfather for Wii is really good, bestowing upon it an ‘impressive’ 8.0 score, and EGM recommends it, too. Nice to see EA putting real effort into its Wii titles, can’t wait to see where things go from here. The site’s review of Custom Robo for DS is up as well, and Craig Harris gave it a solid 7.0. Sounds cool, but not quite up to the series’ N64 excellence. VC release, please!
Next, ONM is claiming that its Nights Wii teaser is not an April Fools prank. That’s good news. Also on the nostalgia front, you’ve got until the 21st to bid on 794 SNES games at eBay, but be prepared to spend a good fifteen grand for the mint collection. Cool, but I’d rather spend a couple thousand more and get my very own Mario Kart arcade setup.
Further on the Wii front, Nintendo is strongly denying rumors that an external hard drive is in the works for the system, Reggie is talking about the importance of ramped up Wii production, and Capcom is stating that Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is still on track for a 2007 release, with more projects from the company to be announced soon.
Now for some news on the Mii front. Miyamoto’s talking about them (sizing up PS3’s Home in the process), as is the Wall Street Journal, and shots of the concept’s humble DS beginnings have surfaced. On a personal note, I’ve once again fallen in love with making Miis after a two-month hiatus. It really is a brilliantly simple little system.
Finally, if you haven’t heard, Katamari is rumored to be on its way to Wii. Please be true

I’m crossing my fingers, toes, arms and legs for Katamari on the Wii. It would be too perfect.

Katamari + Nights = Happiness

I beleive them that their big story is coming. I’m not convinced it’s nights though, with their history I think it’s more likely that the nights thing in the stars was just a publicity stunt. One that’s worked incredibly well.

long story short, ONM is a magazine that’s *this close* to death and trying desperately to stay alive. still, i hope it’s Nights. controlling that on Wii would be bliss

I’d love it if it does turn out to be nights. They’ve had so many cameos but never a new game, it’s been like torture. Between a good Sonic and NiGHTS Sega could bring a lot of good mojo in their direction.

Crazy Rumas, I fell in love with making Miis again, too. My wife and I had some friends over and we sat around for an hour making miis of all the silly people we knew. Then we played Wii Sports…if there were two Japanese guys in the room it would have been one of the Wii TV spots.

Ummmm, Katamari IS coming to Wii…what leads you believe it isn’t?

ONM hasn’t really said it was legitimate Nights teaser as much as it is about a real, unannounced game. At this point I’m just not going to assume anything, although honestly, I have owned Nights since it came out and still don’t get what its appeal is. It’s good, but I don’t find it ohmygodamazing like some people do… although at this stage I find myself wondering how many people have even played the game.

If they do indeed release NiGHTS, they better not screw with the original concept (a la Sonic and the Secret Rings‘ gameplay).
