The good folks at Warp Pipe Technologies came up with the not-so-new idea of implementing a portal that would enable tabbed browsing for the Nintendo Wii Browser. The difference? It has a real neat interface that auto-hides, incorporates search fields for images and videos, and remembers your settings for which sites to stay in your favorite list and which ones should open by default when the portal is accessed.
The application (or portal) is called Wiiminder. From what I have tested in the past hour, it is solid and does the job quite well. There are a few quirks here and there (like scrolling a zoomed-in page cancels the zoom), but browsing the web with music playing in Finetune in the background feels so rewarding.
Point your Wii Browser to Wiiminder.com and try it out for yourself.

Actually, I’m pretty sure the Warp Pipe guys and gals did tabbed browsing for the Wii before anyone else with their Wii Start Page or whatever it was called.
